God must be crazy, too !

Today is 1st July. Electricity tariff will be increased today. All manufactured goods need electricity. All households use electricity. All offices and shops need electricity. Meaning that all goods and services will be more expensive.

I have a chat with a patient just now. He is a man in his thirties, and owns a small trading company. He has never been hypertensive, but today his BP readings is 160/95. I can see the stress in his eyes and the furrow over his forehead. He admitted he is under lots of stress just trying to survive and is really worried that his company may go bust.

I told him that whatever will be will be and there is no point worrying about the future. I told him to try to cut costs, work extra hard instead of worrying. But deep down in my heart, I know that many people are like him and the proportion of this group will grow bigger and bigger if the economy remains stagnant like the past few years.

But is there any effort to really push up the economic growth? Without such growth and without more business, many small and medium enterprises will go under. With businesses going under, unemployment will increase , more people will be out of jobs and more people will be going for the fewer jobs. Salary will go down in such a scenario, because if you are not willing to work for a lower pay, other people will, when people are chasing the jobs. The working class will suffer.

Back to question. or shall I rephrase the question. Is there anyone in the leadership thinking of the rakyat and trying to take charge to improve the economy and livelihood of the people? Is there anyone capable of jumpstarting the economy? If economy is good, then perhaps the inflation will have a lesser impact. Singapore too is facing an unprecedented inflation, about 6 % this year but because of the high average income, people are still able to live a fairly good life there. And because of the high savings, they do not have to worry so much about their retirement.

There is so much and too much of politicking. Ask anyone on the street. Most will not believe the latest allegations about an opposition leader involving in sodomy again, after he was jailed 10 yrs ago for the same charge and later cleared by the Federal Court of that charge. To think that he would be so stupid to do this is certainly naive and reflects very badly on our image as a democratic country that is supposedly ruled by law.

Then, where is the judicial commission and the MCAC that were promised? Nothing much was heard of them now. I have a feeling of Deja Vu, it was like 4 yrs ago when so much was promised and so little was delivered.

A lot of people are confused. A lot of people are angry. A lot of people are depressed. A lot of people are pessimistic.

I always advise people to look for the nice scenery outside, , when looking through a window pane. I always advise them not to look at the dirt on the window pane. Because that is what an optimist will do, just like half a glass of water can be wither half full or half empty depending on how you view it.. But what do you do when the window pane is so covered with dirt that it is impossible to look out and all beautiful scenery is obstructed ? How about when the glass of water is so filled with shit, what you do call it? God only knows.

Even God must be crazy looking at these clowns!

So many important things are pushed aside because people are absolutely enthralled by the sandiwara by one man or another. A point to note : he was not cleared by the Federal Court, he succeeded on a ground of technicality. I sometimes feel sadden by the energy of the people being channelled to all those conspiracy theories, and attention diverted away from where they really should be. And then whenever someone tries to propose changes and do something differenly, that proposal is drown in the sea of cynicism and criticism. we’re not gonna go anywhere if we keep this up.

    You are lucky Doc.
Patients must still see you…whether they like it or not. Maybe don’t increase your medical charges?
I know one Indian Doc…used to charge me like hell….and give FOC to so many Indian visiting him.
He feels he is a medical .’Robin Hood”…squeezed the rich ..to help the poor……but later I found out…..most of those Indians are not poor at all.
    So he is a racialist…….hahahahahaha
Are you still hoping UMNO will seriously think of Malaysians?
They have the trademark…to do anything….to gain popularity and voters.
Now it is split….UMNO will get worst.
    BN is dead!

yeap, i definitly agree. Only few blogs posted the hike of electricity tariff. And to some, they might not know about it at all.
We as the rakyat are shoved non-stop with all the dramas about political issues that we ourselves begin to doubt the integrity of our Menteri-s, Judges and Police.
Then to whom we should turn to?
..is this the early signs of doom to our country?

I think the evil force is a small team from UMNO.
Why are we facing all these…are due solely of our own doings. We keep voting them in.
UMNO have followers….especially the Malays….clinging to the concept of race and religion politics. They simply loved to be fooled.
Worst of all….this is supported by MCA.. Gerakan…and MIC….who are actually selling their souls.. to UMNO.
First 25 years seems logical….and from the time of Mahathir….this devil keep playing con jobs…successfully…juggling here and there….like a crooked magician.
Fortunately….he love to be a DICTATOR..so he needed to divide his race….to be stronger.
Bottom line…Malays love UMNO…but daily…most of these Malays have changed their minds…and will support a new government…seeing the real UMNO now at work…caring for themselves…and not fair to all.
This will be the downfall of UMNO….treating the Malays…..and Malaysians..like suckers…..taught by Mahathir for 22 years.
It is out-dated and unproductive formula.

The case of Anwar..reminds me of Philippines ..poor late Aquino….bravely retuning back to fight the corruptions of Marcos..got shot….coming down from a plane.
I hope Anwar take serious precautions.
Desperate people will take desperate measures.
If Malaysians can believe UMNO crooks are all saints…and can trust their guarantees….then okay.
Not only that…give them a stronger government…..in next election.
But if Malaysians keep seeing the many corrupted hypocrites….talking cock justices….be careful…be very careful. On the 6th July.a rally is planned to protest against ..oil increase price. I think it is not a good idea.
Lets wait till 16th September…for Anwar to take over.
Why protest with so much vigour and energy on oil now?
Is this an UMNO planned sting?
    Go conclude yourself.
Even if it is sincerely planned by NGOs…they should think what Anwar promised and said….and not compete against Anwar for popularity…with the same objectives.

    Monsterball,

Thanks for the advice, maybe you are right. I am a “baby” blogger, still trying to find my way without much outside help. I wasted a lot of time gropping around and added to problem of my PC hangging on me, despite having changed a new one already. Last two days, really got very tired eyes (dare not let my wife know). You see, I also spent time answering questions in another web site, plus reading and answering emails. Added to all these, I am a full time babysitter taking care of my 3-yr old grand daughter. I also have to keep an eye on my very frail 84-yr old mother.

I have to see whether I have any recent and decent picture of myself. You see, photographers usually don’t like taking pictures of themselves. I was a very keen photographer during the “negative” days. Circumstances have changed my lifestyle.

Rose Chan article is definitely coming. Good material. As I said hope no one beats me to it. Hope to do it today, but no promise.

(Thanks, Dr Hsu, for allowing this nonsense comment on your blog. I am aware this is not a public forum)

Justin Choo…I think Doc appreciates sincere and smart commentators.
And yes…I also apologize using .. to Doc…using his blog …to talk personal things.
To me..it is somewhat telling all my new found friends….especially to Doc….I have no secrets to hide…..and once awhile…nice to throw the main subject aside…to unwind.
Justine..you are a nice down to earth man.
    Electricity is government controlled…like… water….oil…APs{hahahaha}
So what can one do…even if they want to increase more and more?
From yesterday…I started to switch off…even porch and staircase lights…which for donkey years….I have kept them on…as good habits.
I am waiting to see….what will be my July bill.
Now I know..the extra I need to cough out for petrol….I can sit down and budget thing accurately.
    I am old and okay.
I feel sorry for those youngsters…just having a family..going though this period. They will be the ones…slogging to make ends meet.
They are not so fortunate ……..like their elder brothers and sisters…able to enjoy….with the same salary…like him.
Regardless what the situation is….everyone have no choice..except to change the government and see …is it for… better or for worst…in next election. Hope youngsters can learn to budget.
Many wait last moment….saying no money to change motor cycle tires…or renew insurance….or road tax. Those are the youngsters….I am concern about….including my own children.
So far…they don’t ask me for financial help….are good signs…..they are budgeting.
Everything good or bad …..announcements by the government….will involve all working class.. Malaysians
So far…after the elections…not one good news.

I’m afraid the latest round of cost increases will push many companies, especially small to medium establishments, which may already be on unsteady ground, to close shop.

This is going to have a big impact on unemployment.

The last major economic crisis 10 years ago was fortunately not accompanied by any major inflation, in fact there was deflation as the prices of property and many durable goods were cut to stimulate demand. People who still had jobs or viable businesses helped keep consumer demand going, because their effective income had not been cut. I bought my current home and a car at that time, both at bargain prices.

This time its going to be an economic slowdown combined with massive inflation – the worst possible type of economic trouble. Its going to be long and very ugly.

Knock, knock , who’s running the government ?
I only see a few faces pretending to do so, no real work being done.

with every single politician running their own gambit for god-knows-what cause, the common people will be confused like hell.

    Whatever, live and let die.

Let’s just ignore all of these weird clown acts and just live life.

I know, everyone’s been very down, but if you have the audacity to even think about that, you had just wasted your time doing something else that could bring some good into your lifestyle.

The armed forces will be called in to assist police in maintaining public order if the security situation of the country warrants it, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan.

“However, this will only be done after consultation with the Home Affairs and Defence Ministers,” he told reporters after witnessing the launch of the inaugural six-day joint police-armed forces exercise at the Royal Malaysian Police Senior Officers College in Cheras Wednesday.

Musa said it was the responsibility of both the police and armed forces to ensure that peace and security prevailed in the country at all times.

He said one of the reasons why the police and armed forces held the joint exercise was to ensure they were prepared for the situation, following recent challenges faced by law enforcement agencies here.

“The exercise is also to enhance the cooperation between the police and the army, besides helping improve coordination, logistics and communication between the two forces,” he added.

Wow! joint police n arm forces exercise, in preparation for threat to national security. Who is possing that threat? PR i assume. Looking at events unfold, probably a declaration of “emergency” state can salvage whatever leftover for umno dominance and continue rule in Malaysia, not a bad scenario after all knowing it is all over again after may 13th. Umno need to raise a notch higher as time is drawing near.
