Spare the rod and spoil the child

Updated at 8pm (see the end of post)

In Malaysia, somethings are very predictable. In fact, they are as predictable as the sun rises from the East.

One of them is, whenever someone from UMNO, not even the top echelon of leaders but one of the second or 3rd tier wannabes, utter certain racial slurs, the component parties leaders will raise a great  hue and cry. Police reports would be made. Demands that action be taken against the fellow would be made. In the end, everything will quieten down and nothing much will come out of it.

The recent case of a UMNO division chairman is a good example (read my earlier post). PM has already said that this fellow did not mean what he said. Perhaps what he means is that  all of us can go around scolding and insulting people and then say, I do not mean it.  But in the end, I am sure nothing will come about the whole incident. (Not even a sorry, but maybe a regret!! )

The next predictable thing is the Auditor General”s report. Year in and year out, there would be the same abuses and the same wastages reported and the same promise of action; but again , no action is made to punish the errand officers and the wastage will go on unchecked.

A company, with no previous experience  and not even a license to handle radioactive materials, were given the contract to supply PET scan machines, which are highly sophisticated imaging machines and required special expertise in knowledge of radioactivity.  And the contract is worth 33 millions. We can cry our heads off, but I can assure you this thing will continue unabated and no one would even lift an eyebrow.

All these are about rules and laws. There must not be 2 sets of rules- which is eactly the case in our country-  one for the lay people , and one for the powerbrokers or senior officers.

In the first instance, without any action being taken against this division chairman who uttered racial slurs, others will be emboldened and racial insults will be  hurled again and again. Well, nothing can be done, but the power-that-be forgets that the people are smart now. They know they are  the masters, even though only on one day every 5 years. . They will know what to do the next round going to the polls.  In the end, not only the component parties suffer because of the arrogance of UMNO members (they have only themselves to blame for being so subservient), even UMNO candidates will be rejected , as more and more people realise that racial politics will not be good for the advancement of the country.

Similarly with all the government abuses and misuse of funds. If these things are left unchecked, sooner or later , there will be a day when our coffers will all go to private pockets and  nothing will be left for your future generations.

But will things change? Again, this is predictable. Things will not change.

There is a saying that ” spare the rod and spoil the child”. In the case of SIngapore and Hong Kong, they do not spare the rods and they have efficient government and civil services to face the challenges of globalisation. In our case, sadly, it is again predictable that rods will never be used against certain politicians and those elites with connections.

Update  Latest from the Star online at 8pm:

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno, the backbone of the ruling Barisan Nasional government, has issued a public apology over a remark made by Bukit Bendera Umno division head Datuk Ahmad Ismail during the Permatang Pauh parliamentary by-election last month.

“We hope that the non-Malays will not be too disturbed with the statement and we apologise if it has incurred the sensitivities or unhappiness over the statement.

“We apologise, Umno apologises although it is not our statement but it is a statement made by one of our division leaders. It is totally unwarranted and does not reflect the position and the attitude of Umno or the leadership of Umno. We regret it very much,” Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who is also Umno deputy president, said here on Tuesday.

I am really puzzled! Why should one person made the remark and another person apologises for it. It does not make sense at all !!!  Malaysia Boleh!

That’s why….we are waiting for 16th Sept…14 days more and counting…for Anwar to change the government.
If he fails……..Malaysians should help him …in next general election.
We have enough of UMNO massive corruptions…mismanagements..race and religion politics…and sickening mindset attitudes…..like Malaysia belongs to them..to do as they like.
They are so crazy for power with money..knowing money is power….they keep on stealing our money…to control us….and to have that power..so call forever.
Most of them are just great hypocrites and actors…never really work ….so filthy rich.
We must change the government fast….before our country faces with vast majority of poor citizens..that will fight and plunder…to keep them alive…like dogs.
It is going to be hell……..under UMNO.

How can our sleepy flipflop guy declared that this stupid idiotic racialist doe not mean what he said?? No wonder, this idiot now has catch on with his disease. He flipflop but do not mean whatever he says. Oh my goosh…Malaysia are so “blessed” with this kind of character running the country!!!
Did Hindraf utter any racial or any offensive remarks to other races during their rallies?? What did they do to be locked up under ISA???
And yet we have this stupid racialistic idiot who stirred racial feelings and yet got scott free. What a great government we have. For all we know, this idiot may also a “pendatang” himself maybe from Indonesia. Now he claim himself to be a bumiputra and a malaysian malay. The real bumiputras are the ORANG ASLI. These poor ASLIs have been sidelined by these “bumiputras” all these years.
He should go back to his country of origin in the first place.

Another “truth” is predictable. Regimes come and go. The corrupted and evil rulers will ultimately see the end of their days. Ancient history is a “living” prrof, but the evil ones are too blind to see. Even recent events could not wake them up. Marcos, Sukarno, Chiang Kai Shek, PolPot, Vietnam, the Indian Congress Party, suffered the same fate, but fools and bigots will never learn.

The Courage to Build a New Malaysia.

The year is 2008. This is the year most Malaysians finally woke up from a deep slumber. Most Malaysians were just too busy earning their living and building up their lives to take notice that times have changed and the idealism spouted by our founding Fathers have still not been accomplished for this country even today.

It was not so long ago in 1957 and then for our fellow East Malaysians in 1963 when the ideals and dreams preached by the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj (Bapa Kemerdekaan and Bapa Malaysia) for Malaysia were first announced and was greeted with joy in the hearts and minds of all Malaysians. The late Tunku Abdul Rahman had a dream and ideals, just like Martin Luther King, Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and many others including the prophets over the history of mankind.

Many a times such dreams were hijacked and led astray under the guise of nationalistic, racist and religious idealism by so called politicians and self declared and appointed righteous and religious persons (Little Napoleons). Individuals who have risen to continue some of such idealisms are gagged, isolated, bankcrupted, blasphemied, rehabilitated or worst jailed, for it is deemed not in consonance with the dreams and idealism of the elected parties agendas.

Laws are legislated and passed at whim in Parliament to change the idealism of the Supreme Law of the Land (The Malaysian Constitution) and to cloak such party and individual agendas. It is true, Malaysia, conforms to the democratic process as practiced by most western countries in elections (even though tainted but unproven). But once given the trust to be elected as a leader or representative of the people, party and individual idealism overtook national idealism, and The Jeykll and Hyde personality emerged to be repeated over and over again at each and every election and by-election.

Malaysians have being led astray for so long, that what is right is blurred, what is wrong is tolerated, what is evil is condoned, what is fair is pouted as unfair, what is immoral becomes moral and corruption and close one eye need to become a part of our accepted daily lives. Jealousy, hatred, greed, racism, plundering and satanism starts to breed in Malaysian minds, and brothers, friends and fellow Malaysians were looked upon as enemies or as inferior human beings. Once a while, such nets were cast ashore to include anything to do with other countries or other races which do not belong to one’s own race or religious beliefs.

The minds and souls of Malaysians are so polluted and poisoned for so many years that it seems that Malaysia is the only all correct country and we should rule the world by our way. Examples of countries which follows Malaysia or is it we following them are, such as North Korea, Zimbabwe and Israel. What justifications can you tell your own generations or future Malaysian generations that what you are doing to fellow mankind and more so to your own fellow Malaysians that it is righteous and correct, when, it is at the expense and sufferings of your own human kind and fellow Malaysians?

Can you say to them I did it to follow the orders and teachings of God or party political agendas? Who gave you such inspirations and idealism? Do not absolve your own wicked mind and greed nor take a ride on someone else wicked mind and greed. Do not pick and choose in the Books of God nor the man-made laws to justify or suit your own twisted and idealistic minds. You can fool others due to their ignorance or emotions at some time but you can’t fool forever a man’s conscience nor your own children or hopefully one day your own when such enlightenment comes to you.

The courage to change things which are not right in Malaysia nor achieve the ideals of the Founding Fathers is not impossible. Most Malaysians have woken up to the fact that the future is going to be determined by it’s own citizens thru their own conscience guided by their own religious beliefs to live a harmonious and productive life of correctness and not the type of political, racial or religious correctness as preached.

Parties and their own agendas do not take priority over the Founding Fathers ideals and hopes of all Malaysians. Religion and principles are as a guide to your own conscience to make sure whoever is the leader do not lead Malaysians nor society astray.

For in the end, what is just and right should surely overule anything else for any leader or their party agendas.

Does your Representative of the People (Wakil Rakyat) or You! have the courage?

it’s quite worse than that; if Anwar fails to take over the government, we would have to face 3 more budgets of dubious credibility.

So, yeah, the Tsunami wasn’t enough to cure Malaysia of its plight.

By the time Malaysia recovers, should that come to pass, other countries would already be good enough not to rely on Malaysia for anything.

And lost credibility are very, very serious, and would take ages to get it back.

….Would civil war occur in Malaysia?

It is like this..one person speaks… to test Malaysians
    reactions.
If OK…UMNO will take that sue…to go further.
If it angers Malaysians…be humble apologize….and try another stunt again..in the near future.
As you can see….the apology is half heatedly done…saying it is an individual remarks…not representing UMNO.
    Any forthcoming punishment?
    Dream on.

Monsterball, UMNO is not that bad; I’ve never heard any more “bocor” comments after that debacle, at least from what I heard.

UMNO is not evil, it’s just that it’s too young, and like any young child, It thinks that he is always right, and seldom make mature decisions.

Anwar is mostly portrayed as the one who will discipline UMNO. Let’s hope that he does not go any further than that, for Malaysia’s sake.

But in the end, get ‘Padan Muka’ instead.

More politics as usual and no sincerity at all.

Much like the swearing and oath taking. It means nothing at all if you don’t mean it.

Luckily most of the rakyat can see it for what its worth ….. Nothing!

But mark my words, tomorrow you will see some dumb ass component party leadership saying “There you go all solved so lets move on”.

To them I say “yeah, lets move on until the next GE where you guys will be trashed so badly that your mother can’t even recognize your faces!”

Below was what I commented in Anil’s blog :-

    Anil,

I have commented in Dr. Hsu’s Forum that if one day I decided to contest in a GE, I will choose a Malay majority seat of at least 51%. This kind of seat maybe not safe for me, but at least I drive a point to the voters to look at multiracial angle.

We have been brought up in a racial divide environment and logically we think likewise, which is not good for the country in the long run. We should look not at skin colours, but on merit of a person, which is all about Pakatan Rakyat now. A race that in position of power does not mean he or she would look after your race. All things should fall back on conscience and merit.

So, who knows in future we can see Anwar contests in Ipoh Timur and Lim Kit Siang in Permatang Pauh?

Based on the current mood, both of them can still win, I have no doubt about this. So, lets not kill such mood but to gain more momentum.

So, racists, what are you waiting for?

This is extracted from LKS blog:

Fifthly, the bona fide of Najib’s apology comes into question when this news is blacked out in the Malay mainstream newspapers owned and controlled by UMNO, in particular Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian. A check with Bernama online shows that Najib’s apology is reported in Bernama’s English news but blacked out in Bernama’s Bahasa Malaysia news.

With such media manipulation of his apology, how much is one to believe Najib when he said that Ahmad’s statement did not reflect the position and attitude of Umno or the leadership of Umno?

The problem Malaysia facing today is the lack of leaderships in umno dominated BN in tackling rising racism and religious extremism in the country, PM inability to rein in the elected racist member within his party shown that he is too weak to lead all Malaysians in countering the ever rising racial and religious extremism in Malaysia political landscape.

UMNO is indeed racists. so does the party who joins in collaboration with UMNO in BN.

UMNO now can’t be compared to UMNO of 1957. MCA now can’t be compared to MCA of 1957. MIC now, can it be compared to MIC of 1957? i dunno, Samy No Value seems to live forever heheh…
PGRM now, does NOT even existed in 1957 🙂
PERIKATAN can’t even be compared with BN…

Obviously, BN and all of the compornant parties have long outlived it’s purpose. Instead of truely lived up to it’s ideals, to work and championing for the rakyat’s cause, it has become a closed circle of cronies where personal gains has become the upmost priorities! Where the wealth of the nation is plundered at the expense of the rakyat. Race or religion are just excuses to justify the means, and to keep us the rakyat forever divided…

    Why the surprise…?
    Why the commotion…?
    Why the hoopla…?

So, what’s new? BN wil always be BN. UMNO will always be UMNO. All of the other parties will always be willing “prostitutes”, right?

I really hate the way UMNO treated other malays who does NOT want to join UMNO or other malays who joins other party than UMNO! These people even discriminate the malay themselves. Dont bother to talk about their treatment of the other non-malays which are even much worst!

Do you know, in order for a so called malay to registered as a class C contractor, he needs to fill up the form to be an UMNO’s member first! But then, there are so many politics to even get a contract worth 10k that make someone have to think for 101 times if they really want to pursue into this field. hahahaa…

My ex-boss who opens a consultancy firm was purposely sidelined from even participating in any government job just because he is a member of PAS! UMNO for malays? Solidarity for the malays? Pure bullshits, the usual UMNO way. hahahaa…

These are all the people who cause the downfall of Bank Bumiputra (buat mcm bank mak bapak dia orang ajer) because of so many NPL. These are the people who give the malay all sorts of bad name! ali baba, mat Jenin, malas, mentaliti subsidi, kaki perempuan, kaki rasuah, dapat duit projek keluar kereta baru, dapat duit projek terus lesap etc… haiyaa, the lists are so long! Hahahaa, banyak malu woo…

How is it possible for me or any common malay NOT to hate UMNO. I hate the way they acquire their wealth. I hate it the way they shown off their wealth. I hate their arrogance and rudeness, I hate their double standard and most importantly, I hate the way they make a mockery of the religion itself. That is the last straw…

The other part of it, I hate it when they have the guts to tell us to “UBAH GAYA HIDUP” when they stupidly increase the fuel price and causes the price of all other things to goes up as well. All my life, I have to work hard and really compete with others just to earn a decent leaving. Now, some crooks have the guts to tell me to change my lifestyle!

Yeah right! I’ll change my lifestyle by voting UMNO and BN out for eternity! Hahaha….
