Some words concerning the birth of Jesus:
    John 18:37
“Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”

    John 14:6
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

So much of Christmases going around is DEVOID of the person of Christ who has spoken. How many who celebrate Christmas own Christ’s claim that He is the King, and hear and embrace His word as the truth?

Merry Christmas to my Christian friends!

“To some Muslims, wishing the non-Muslims with Merry Christmas or any of their religious festivals is haram (forbidden).

“On Christmas day, Imam Khomeini gave a message to all the Christians of the world that the news agents broadcast. As well as this message, he told us to distribute gifts to the residents of Neauphel-le Chateau. These were usually Gaz (a type of confectionary), Aajeel (dried nuts or seeds or fruits) and Shireeni (sweet items) that some brothers had brought from Iran. We carried this out and next to each package, we placed a flower stem.

“In the places we went to, we sensed that many in the West were not familiar with this kindness and love, even between fathers and their children, They felt it very strange that the night of the birth of the Prophet of the Christians, a non-Christian Iranian leader was so close to them and felt love for them. For example there was a woman who, when she took the Imam’s gift, was so overcome that tears rolled down her face”.

    Dr Hsu,

Wishing you, your family and friends good health and all great blessings money can’t buy.

On Christmas day, as one Henry Beecher once said, “Remember God’s bounty in the year. String the pearls of his favour. Hide the dark parts, except so far as they are breaking out in light. Give this one day to thanks, to you and gratitude!

    Best wishes to you.

    About Me of ‘Serendipity Hopeful’,

When I was young, self-assurance and self-confidence were quite characteristic of my behavior. These two qualities managed to trick me to believe that I was ‘infallible and invincible’. No one checked me, or to be more truthful, I resisted any attempt to check me. I was oblivious to the feelings and reactions I created in others. This turned me into an obnoxious person whose ‘cockiness’ was evident to all and sundry but myself. So now, you have an idea what sort of a person I was. But as age catches up, these same two qualities seem to lose its strong grip, and I come to realize I am not the ‘mister-know-all’, after all. Reality has started to set in.

I am presently at this stage in life where being wise is more important than being right. I now seek self-improvement and I hope to make changes fast so that I can find happiness and joy.

I wish to share this happiness with others through this blog. It is my hope that through this blog serendipity can play its mysterious magic and bring the `unasked-for’ goodies to us all.

But how can I be wise if feedback is not forthcoming. It is through feedback that I will realize if my views, opinions and assumptions hold water. So keep them feedback coming in!

    May you be happy.”

Am I too late to find this marvelous blog? I hope not.

The word ‘obnoxious’ caught my attention. Perhaps we should look at ourselves whetther we fit in well with this description of ‘obnoxious’, and have a new resolution for the new year of 2009.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR

A belated Merry Christmas to Dr. Hsu and family and fellow blog-visitors. I sincerely wish everyone season’s greetings and a cheerful and peaceful New Year ahead. I was travelling the last week staying at Seaview Hotel at Pulau Pangkor. Met Datuk Tan Yee Khan, the proprietor of Seaview Hotel. What a legend and such a gracious man (host). It shows how a great sportsman can be transformed into a brilliant gentleman. A beautiful hotel in a great location. Food was out of this world. The Christmas party was one big muhibbah event. It seems like 300 people from all walks of life were there! Who says Malaysia is not united?

    Dear A true Malaysian,

I went to your blog but couldn’t leave a comment despite your asking visitors to leave one before leaving.

Anyway, this is what I intended to leave on your Gandhi post.

    —————————————————-
Hope you don’t mind A true Malaysian but I’ve added this blog to my blogroll.

Gandhi is truly the enlightened one not so much for his simple common sense but for his empathy with those who who suffer from ordinary existence.

Our pride that we humans are the most enlightened beings on earth is nothing more than ego if we can’t empathize with others less fortunate than ourselves.

In fact it will be our pride and fears that will bring about our demise as a civilization!

And the shame of it all, empathy is far easier to achieve than the other human destructive emotions (empathy comes natural to us as opposed to all those destructive emotional forces) if ONLY we can be more human and less emotional.
