A by election which will be a referendum

There is definitely going to be a by election.

PAS MP for Bukit Gantang passed away this morning.

While my condolence and sympathy are with the family of the late MP, the MP’s death will force a by election in the  Parliamentary constituency , which includes the state seat of Cangkat Jering, the seat of one of the ‘frogs’ who had jumped ship.

It will be interesting to see how the people will vote. It is going to be a referendum of sort.

Looking at the sentiment of the people right now, especially Perakians, it would be tough for BN to win back this seat, and if PAS wins again with a much higher votes, it will be a slap on the face of those BN leaders who had engineered the ‘coup’.

How much money is going to be poured in? Nobody knows . BUt one thing is almost certain . I need not be a fortune teller to tell you that PAS is going to win with much bigger margin no matter how much money is used…..

The schemer for Perak coup never know he has to face the voters so soon.

I have Chinese friends who frequently told me, a smartest person will miss out something somehow even though all points thought out well before executing his plan. Looks like this is too soon to happen. But, can do anything. Someone is more powerful it seems.

Who knows, they maybe working hand in hand with the EC to microscope through all the election acts to see if there are any loopholes not to hold this by election.

But it is only the beginning…the year is still young. As for Hee, a Camry is a heavy to pay for the daily curses heaped on her. Curses are energy fields and it will last a long time but before the energy goes weak, the “explosion” will take place and we just have to sit tight and watch, the natural divination takes place, naturally, of course.

Justice will take place no matter where she, her children or family hides. There is no place to hide from divine tribulation. Imagine 12,000 voters cursing her with emotions, day in and day out.

Very interesting to see how the people in Bukit Gantang/Cangkat Jering will vote this time. It is a referendum for BN after they take over the Perak state government from PR. This is used to be BN stronghold and contested by GERAKAN. BN now need to win back this Paliment Seat to show that they have the support of Perakian. Their challenge come too early!

Morality is not a western concept, it’s rooted in cosmic laws.

I like to make a quotation spoken by someone.

“Today, we are facing two crises that could wipe out the existence of mankind. Both crises, leading to total destruction were brought about by the conscious acts of all people on earth.

“The other is total destruction of our internal world. By this, I mean the loss of our own sense of humanity and spirtuality as a result of egotistical competitiveness.

“These two forms of total destruction are rooted in our selfish mentality by which we endlessly pursue material (monetary) desires. Overcoming the block in our consciousness and psyche to address these issues which originates in our self-centered mentality, is one way of living for which the present and future generations should aim.

“I call the way of living in which, guided by our innate virtue given us by heaven, we unite the inside and outside, ourselves and material objects, now and future generations, and the here and now with earth citizens, the “Beyond philosophy of future generations.

“I am convinced that we must go beyond our present materialistic value system to establish a higher level value system that enables us to continually reach for a spiritually and philosophically elevated self.”

By Katsuhiko Yazaki (Chairman of the Future Generations Alliance Foundation) Speech delivered to a function attended by Anwar Ibrahim when he was Deputy Prime Minister. Also attended the same event was Najib Razak when he was Defence Minister.

See how destiny played in the arena of politics, both are fighting each other now in the Malaysian theatrical political stage.

    Divine karma has strange play-outs.

UMNO and its principal actors will reap what they sow, like wheel of the cart following the hooves of the Ox. Ooops!! the year of the Ox. What a coincidence.

Wonder who is BN’s candidate and from which component party. Gerakan has no MP. Maybe Gerakan could be fielding the candidate since it held this constituency before. If, so, this will also be a referendum for Gerakan. Any BN candidate is like a lamb leading to a slaughter house. And if it is Gerakan – hmmm.

“Perception is dangerous”. I agreed fully with A true Malaysian.

Malaysia should do away “Politics is about perception”. I can see a lot of Gerakan here have the perception that Gerakan still have chance to survive with Umno around.

Divine intervention cannot be escaped, one has no choice but to face it with a repentance heart, admit and repent for wrong doing like murder, rape or rob.

    Cilipadi,

I agree with you that perception is dangerous which I previously said, it’s time Malaysians get rid of perceptions. Politics should be rooted in values and principles. But easier said than done, hence the rotten world state of affairs including here in Bolehland.

No, I’m not a monk. labels are not important, just a name. A person dressed in monk-robes may not be a “monk” and outward appearance is of little significance. Many smart looking politicians dressed in suit and tie can be poltergeists in character.

Spiritual planes have no names. Sages are nameless. I am imperfect like everybody else.

To read politics, we probably have to be blind with our eyes and read through our hearts. Remember I think in 1994 (correct me if I am wrong) we had some 7 by-elections….I wonder this Ox year can break that record. There will be or rather I think, Malaysians should have more chances to send a referendum (to deliver a collective single verdict) how they feel towards UMNO, the wicked leadership.

    Cilipadi, welcome to Bolehland.

A proverb said: “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”

I’m afraid this country is facing this situation.

In spite of all the talking, I noticed that in recent months, Gerakan have been adopting a more conforming style. In fact the tone have been getting milder, with regard to UMNO and BN.

Maybe, Ahmad “Pendatang” Ismail did frighten Gerakan in becoming more BN.

When groups are sidelined from job opportunities , it will result in the rise of gangsterism, robberies etc etc. When political opponents are badly treated with threats and brute or physical force the same results applies.

With so much brute force applied on the PAS pers, a day will come when some of them will feel enough is enough. An off shoot from PAS would arise that would go underground and apply the same methods and techniques that BN/UMNO have carried out. BN politician will be kidnapped or the worst physical force to cripple them. This cannot be ruled out as examples has had been set by UMNO. It happens in most countries that are plague with political high handed methods in dealing with opposition parties.

This would lead to a mild stage of terrorism in the initial stage. As the pace of brutal actions by the ruling BN/umno increases so would these offshoots or sparrow groups retaliating with the same methods and manner.

UMNO must learn that their actions will force the opposition to this situation. In the end Chaos and disruption reign…

The impending Bukit Gantang parliamentary by-election to be held as a result of the death of its incumbent MP will provide a much-needed platform for PR to demonstrate its strength and popularity among the People.

Bukit Gantang, previously a Barisan stronghold but was lost in the previous GE, is a Malay predominant seat. A stronger than before victory for PR will reaffirm the general sentiment that the ‘new’ state government lack the moral authority to rule. A defeat for UMNO will be a crushing blow to the in-coming PM, signalling the forthright rejection of UMNO/BN among Malays/Malaysians.

Let’s use the Bukit Gantang as a referendum. Let the People’s voice to be heard.

I was told that UMNO lost in the last election because UMNO had the wrong candidate .UMNO people voted PAS. This and plus the Chinese votes swung the constituency to PAS. This time, it could be 50-50.
    and BN is optimistic

It don’t look like a shoo in for PAS. It really depends on PAS and PR strategy now. The ground swell helps. But, it might need more than that.

Unfortunately, the unhappy feeling with BN is mainly in the urban and surbaban areas. Bukit Gandang is very much a rural area.

PR, to be a formidable front, should not differentiate Malaysians into Malay, Chinese, Indian and so on. Let’s BN play race politics that they used to.

One race cannot prosper in the expense of the other race. Political analysts tend to analyse voting according to race. They shouldn’t do that.

Multiracial politics begin with all races and all people. Just let BN plays their old outdated game.

Since Independence….race and religion politics was started by UMNO….supported by MCA and MIC.
Mahathir had the golden opportunity to unite Malaysians by discarding that out-dated politics.
Instead he strengthened it….and encouraged corruptions.
Malays are programmed to depend on UMNO.
Chinese …Indians and other races…will defend with their lives…if UMNO goes too far…favoring one race.
4 years ago…the opportunity to discard race and be Malaysians became real.
And it was Anwar Ibrahim….that showed Malaysians…….how to unite as one.
So on race issue…vast majority citizens are proudly calling themselves as Malaysians.
Particularly….Malaysian Chinese know China will never recognized them as Chinese at all.
There is no race issues here…except UMNO….MCA and MIC…are trying to separate us.
Only those that are selfish and calculative….those Chinese that support DAP may be thinking on the race line….supporting DAP.
Those are less educated Malaysian Chinese…determine to fight MCA. It is a fact…majority Chinese support DAP. MCA depends on Malay votes..to win elections.
Now..Malays are more educated…and ca stand on their own two fet to earn a living in the commercial sector. They work under Chinese bosses…and begin to realise…UMNO is fooling them.

    CT Lee,

No, I’m not being pessimistic. Life cycles of men, nations and planets have their own callings.

Malaysia has its own life cycle but the problems will not be solved through politics. We find that there has never been a time when peace has been established universally via politics on this earth.

We have to look at the larger picture and it’s more complicated than delivering babies.

For example, when an individual changes his own future, it is due to him making up his mind that it can be done. UMNO for that matter will not evolve for the better. Most of the miseries the country going through are due to UMNO and a submissive citizenry though the latter, is slowly gradually changing.

It will take time maybe not during our generation. The only help or consolation I would think is that of “upstairs” (heavenly)…2009 year (symbolic) as you have aptly said, once the labor pain is gone, the deliverance takes place. Partial changes, that is, provided a 2-party system strengthens itself and not get killed by UMNO.

Like darkness just before the dawn, silence before a storm or the pause at the turn of the tide.

Gut feelings….more divine interventions in May…ha, ha, sorry, have to laugh, it’s the only free and cheap pastime in life. It’s also the best medicine during stressful times.

Two-party system will not be there as long as Umno is there. Two-party system needs two parties with ‘conscience’, with ‘morality’.

    I read in Malaysiakini, that

Pakatan Rakyat need a conscientious crossover to form a federal government and reform election laws within a year or so before calling for a general election, it is just too risky, because ‘conscientious’ is not a common word in most Umno dictionaries.

Do you notice ‘conscientious’ is not a common word…..?

Marvelous, Bolehland always have PM from Umno without ‘conscientious’.

Ha, ha, you’re right but this is not real, not on earth or even astral planes of existence. But in spiritual planes, there are no political parties. All spiritual beings are their own centers of the universe.

There is no bribery there, ringgit is man-made. Even in higher astral planes, houses or consumer products are mind-created from refined energy particles. There is no poverty and best, there is no prime minister or ADUNs who crossed over just because of a exco seat or a RM100,000 Camry.

Cilipadi, I like the way you said, the highest morality….no not on earth even in developed countries….quite near maybe, some European countries with better political systems.

What is so sacrosanct about a political ideology or even man-made constitutions, more sacred than spiritual laws?

If these unscrupulous politicians can bring the dead back to life and give life itself, than perhaps, they deserve some respect from what they say and do. For example, in the Perak coup, some idiot said those defectors are “independent” but ‘friendly” to BN, therefore, BN has the majority.

What utter rubbish! What is the definition of “independent”? Friendly?

I can accept Independent lawmakers “agreeing” to policies or some specific ideology but not “sleeping in the same unethical bed” and yet proclaiming independence. Some leaders need to go back to the English class. They think we, Malaysians are idiots like them.

Well, ha, ha Malaysian animal farm politics, we have here aplenty. And looks like a snake will be “the” leader come March. Oh, I mean, Chinese horoscope, you know who.

It seems ‘morality’ has no value at all in Bolehland. Soo Huey commented in romerz’s blog, morality can be compromised. A young girl said that. Can you imagine that?

Perhaps this is why Dr. Hsu does not regard himself as ‘politician’ as morality simply not exist in politics.

I see a lot of good leaders compromising on their morality after they become MPs or ministers, or exco..

Power corrupts.. Especially when you are surrounded by the trappings of high office, with people constantly saying good things about you.

They tend to lose touch with the ground too… especially when they become pawns of their own popularity and trying to attend as much as 7 to 8 functions a day, doing nothing except becoming the so called guest of honour….and listiening to all the ‘customary praises’ which these politicians take as true praises from the people.

After sometime , they begin to think that they cannot be wrong, and cannot be wronged….

Thereare of course good leaders, but they are rare… The type like Gandhi and Deng Xiao Peng and Lincoln, they are rare…..

We have plenty of politicians but not real leaders or statesmen….

Dr Tan, who has joined PKR and quit Gerakan, used to tell me that he was so busy attending functions ( he was proud of himself being able to receive 7-8 invitations a day in his constituency) that he has got no time to think, let alone strategise for people…

And he was so lost after being dropped from the deputy minister’s position. That could be part of the reasons that he teamed up with Kerk to chalenge LKY in 2005 Gerakan election…

I am sure Lim Kit Siang did not have to attend so many meetings a day. That is why he could maintain his blog, and got more time to think…

A politician must not try to gain popularity by just being nice to people and attending functions and so on. More importantly , they must be able to formulate and ppush for people orientated policies. Other wise , they might as well be in the Public relations business.

Lee Kuan Yew does not attend so many functions in his own country..except the very important ones..And whenever he goes overseas to attend meetings, he always seeks new ideas and thinkings….

As a migratory bird, when I read so many comments that somehow reflected ‘morality’ is not important as far as Malaysian politics is concerned, I got a shock. Malaysian stoop so low? Power is everything that each individual’s morality can be compromised?

If this is true, then Malaysia cannot be a great country. Do you want to tell or teach your children that “power” is more important than “morality”? If yes, go ahead, I better fly elsewhere.

Morality is the basic and most important criteria to be a good person, good leader, as far as cilipadi is concerned.

As I have written in internal emails, the leadership does not represent Gerakan, and Gerakan belongs to tens of thousands of ordinary members like myself and others..

Unfortunately, we do not have a leader to galvanise all of us into a force, and I myself, being a non politician, is only fighting an opinion war inside the party to influence.

You need to have certain ambition to become a leader, and i do not have such ambition, only a deisre to speak from my heart on what is right and what is wrong..

But ultimately, when the time frame is up, I will not continue voicing out…

Alos, I am actually doing a favour to the opposition forces when I am voicing out heretic views inside the party, influencing members to think like the oppostion.. But our leaders have always been proud that they are the oppostion inside BN, have they not?.. SO they cannot fault me to voice out like an oppostion memebr… can they? BUt the worse I can receive is of course being kicked out from the party, and I , as a person not seeking any position, would not even blink if they decide to kick me out…

    Dr. Hsu,

I know your time frame. You have mentioned over and over many times. When you set your time frame, did you foresee Perak coup happened? My bet is no.

Perak coup was a greatest mistake that a bad precedent should not be there and it warrants you to shorten the time frame. You and think alike Gerakan members should leave the party. Internet access is still not wide in Malaysia and many people do not read your blog. They do not know your thinking. They only know you are part of the immoral Gerakan.

Forget about MCA, they are even worst than Gerakan. This is the only consolation for your beloved party.

If you leave Gerakan, you do bigger favor for the whole Malaysia, not for me, a migratory bird. If not, you are just wasting your time. Let KTK and the like rot to hell, why bother?

If the time frame is up, you should continue voicing out….on different platform, on Independant friendly to PR, perhaps?

Reality is politics is not for the weak. In order to influence others, you need power. Stop dreaming of influencing Gerakan to quit BN as the decision is “at the hand of few with absolute power” otherwise it had quit 10 months ago. what is in the mind of ordinary members even though 80% of them don’t count if no referendum is held.
