So dirty and despicable

In my last post, “the crude oil paradox” just posted, I mentioned that I would concentrate on economic and bread and butter issues and leave out politics for a while.

However, I feel that I have to comment on the surfacing of nude photos of an exco member of Selangor, and a fellow blogger as well.

I think it is really despicable for anyone to release these photos publicly, since from what was reported in Malaysiakini, these are taken from her bedroom while she was sleeping.

What is wrong to sleep naked in bedroom, which is the ultimate private escape and sanctuary of any person? Dont we all ever have at one time or another been naked in our own bedroom?

I think in this case, we must judge objectively. The culprit is not her but someone who went to her bedroom and photographed her.

Please, these photographs do not prove any promiscuity on the part of the lady involved. We should not use any moral judgement to judge in this case…

If anything, the culprit is the person who has taken this photograph and the one who has released this to the public as well as the mastermind behind this to blacken her name and perhaps cause another state government to collapse

Cannot imagine politics can go down to so low  ….and so dirty.. No wonder my wife does not like my involvement in politics..

If certain political party is involved in this, it will again have a backlash.. The people are not fools anymore.

Wonder how fast the police can act on this matter.

Richard, the police, for once will take very very long to investigate or even open a file. The very very long delay is to leave room for the BN warlords to create some noise, and act out the sandiwara. As Dr. Hsu said, we the rakyat are not easily fooled anymore.

Yes, this act of exposing her nude photos is despicable!

Who dare say now morality is not important in politics? Stoop so low to the extent of disregard a person’s privacy, sanctity and dignity?

Who is / are behind all these? Malaysian police should investigate to the bottom of the case without fear and favor.

Malaysia police should not fear or favor anyone, aren’t they?

And the rabble rouser Khir Toyo is asking for her resignation. I will have something to say about this tonight in my blog!

If this is reason enough for a person to resign from public office, then 90% of UMNO/BN politicians would have to resign a long time ago.

What stupidity from a former MB!

    1. Obviously, it is difficult to get away from politics. It just show how silly the time is, given that the world is collapsing around us.

    2. It is a despicable act on the part of someone circulating these pictures. There is something wrong with our society.

    3. It is even worse of if a political party is involved. If one is involved, then this is a really haram party. One more bullet for the elections.

There’s little parallel between CSL and Eli’s case. The former was/is an old arrogant MCA guy much disliked and very long married as well. Who paid for his hotel bill?

Alessandro Mussolini, grand daughter of Benito had appeared very naked and yet was very elected as well. http://tinyurl.com/ce756x

Tell you the truth! My mum was once a KK MCA wanita chairman. Yup, she is related to Malacca first governor, Leong Yew Koh. We met a number of leaders including Chiang San San & that chicken Ong Ka Chuan. I was teenager when my parents approached that joker for certain matters. In my very own that Ong chicken cabutted from front door to back door avoiding us? How humiliating! My mum refused to carry on the chairman because she sae no future in MCA. If MCA also no future, so what the heck Gerakan holds?

Your wife is wise and very loving…discouraging you to go into politic.
But if you feel you are doing the right thing….why not??
Evil forces in politics are so powerful and plenty…applying all sorts of methods…tactics to stay in power….branding….accusing ….fault finding the opposition politicians….to stay in power….braking up families…they do not care.
All they want ….is to achieve….holding on.. the upper hand position..by hook or by crook.
    These are UMNO and BN.
PR is only interested to exposed corruptions..snakes…demons and bullshitters.
They do have high morals….but those without morals re holding the 4 aces….so keep your moral in your soul….think smart…fight hard to free the country.
Anwar is the chosen one..in the battle of morals….that will not convince voters to mistrust him at all.
Anwar is reporting and predicting….from many information and based on his trust…are totally different from ..bribing….snatching…threatening method applied by UMNO.
Accusing others without morals or other things not true. It is an art UMNO and BN are best at that…due to …great inferiority complex..and keep passing own faults to others.
Applying morals…will weaken the road to free Malaysia.
Not to be immoral…be easily influenced by UMNO tactics and bribes….is good enough.
But in the battleground…fighting for freedom…from immoral enemies…one applying morals is a darn fool.
It is kill or to be killed.
As such….exposing all things bad…even knowing it will break families…must be on going.
Take to the streets……even knowing causing hardships to some business…..must be on going.
Some smart guys will quote the French Revolution and anything to suit his objectives…then asking Malaysians to uphold moralities….an impossible task to free Malaysia’
Get it clear..we value morals…but in battles…we will put that aside….and be disobedient Malaysians to the government. How to be have morals….doing that.
There is no morals involved in such quests.
And on the matter concerning Elizabeth Wong…I met her and from her blog…you will find no better a human being than her..taking up politics.
She must be compelled to stand for election and won. She must be on something important…to be shames and targeted for by someone…..non other than oppositions.
Since they are nude scene from her bedroom…do not count out personal jealousy…..nothing to do with politics.
Only Elizabeth can conclude and keep to herself.
As for me…who cares…that is nothing immoral being nude in your own bed room.
I appreciate and respect Eliza Wong sacrificing her good life for the country. Anyone cares??

Eastern Europe is about to Blow

    By Mike Whitney

February 17, 2009 “ICH” — -Eastern Europe is about to blow. If it does, it could take much of the EU with it. It’s an emergency situation but there are no easy solutions. The IMF doesn’t have the resources for a bailout of this size and the recession is spreading faster than relief efforts can be organized. Finance ministers and central bankers are running in circles trying to put out one fire after another. Its only a matter of time before they are overtaken by events. If one country is allowed to default, the dominoes could begin to tumble through the whole region. This could trigger dramatic changes in the political landscape. The rise of fascism is no longer out of the question.

The UK Telegraph’s economics editor Edmund Conway sums it up like this:

“A ‘second wave’ of countries will fall victim to the economic crisis and face being bailed out by the International Monetary Fund, its chief warned at the G7 summit in Rome….But with some countries’ economies effectively dwarfed by the size of their banking sector and its financial liabilities, there are fears they could fall victim to balance of payments and currency crises, much as Iceland did before receiving emergency assistance from the IMF last year.” (UK Telegraph)

Foreign capital is fleeing at an alarming rate; nearly two-thirds gone in matter of months. Deflation is pushing down asset prices, increasing unemployment, and compounding the debt-burden of financial institutions. It’s the same everywhere. The economies are being hollowed out and stripped of capital. Ukraine is teetering on the brink of bankruptcy. Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary have all slipped into a low-grade depression. The countries that followed Washington’s economic regimen have suffered the most. They bet that debt-fueled growth and exports would lead to prosperity. That dream has been shattered. They haven’t developed their consumer markets, so demand is weak. Capital is scarce and businesses are being forced to deleverage to avoid default. All of Eastern Europe has gotten a margin call. They need extra funds to cover the falling value of their equity. They need a lifeline from the IMF or their economies will continue to crumble.

The UK Telegraph’s economics correspondent Ambrose Evans-Pritchard has written a series of articles about Eastern Europe. In “Failure to save East Europe will lead to Worldwide meltdown” he says:

“Austria’s finance minister Josef Pröll made frantic efforts last week to put together a €150bn rescue for the ex-Soviet bloc. Well he might. His banks have lent €230bn to the region, equal to 70pc of Austria’s GDP.

“A failure rate of 10pc would lead to the collapse of the Austrian financial sector,” reported Der Standard in Vienna. Unfortunately, that is about to happen.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) says bad debts will top 10pc and may reach 20pc….

Stephen Jen, currency chief at Morgan Stanley, said Eastern Europe has borrowed $1.7 trillion abroad, much on short-term maturities. It must repay – or roll over – $400bn this year, equal to a third of the region’s GDP. Good luck. The credit window has slammed shut.

Almost all East bloc debts are owed to West Europe, especially Austrian, Swedish, Greek, Italian, and Belgian banks. En plus, Europeans account for an astonishing 74pc of the entire $4.9 trillion portfolio of loans to emerging markets. They are five times more exposed to this latest bust than American or Japanese banks, and they are 50pc more leveraged (IMF data). (Ambrose Evans-Pritchard UK Telegraph)

An economic crisis is quickly turning into a political crisis. Riots have broken out in capitals across Eastern Europe. Mr. Geithner had better be paying attention. The prospects for political upheaval are growing. Public anxiety can spill out onto the streets at a moments notice. Governments must act quickly and with resolve. These countries need hard currency and guarantees of support. If they don’t get help, the simmering public fury will turn into something much more lethal.

UK Telegraph’s economics correspondent Ambrose Evans-Pritchard:

“Global banks have so far written down half the $2,200bn losses estimated by the IMF. On top of this, EU banks have $1,600bn of exposure to Eastern Europe — increasingly viewed as Europe’s subprime debacle, and EU corporate debts are 95pc of GDP compared to 50pc in the US, a mounting concern as default rates surge.

“It is essential that government support through asset relief should not be on a scale that raises concern about over-indebtedness or financing problems. Such considerations are particularly important in the current context of widening budget deficits, rising public debt levels and challenges in sovereign bond issuance.” (UK Telegraph)

It’s the same wherever banks merged their commercial and investment branches. Debt has skyrocketed to unsustainable levels destabilizing the entire economy. The banks have been operating like hedge funds, concealing their activities on off-balance sheets operations and maximizing their leverage through opaque debt-instruments. Now the global economy is caught in the downdraft of a collapsing speculative bubble. East Europe has been hit hard, but it’s just the first of many bowling pins that will fall. All of Europe has been infected by the same virus which originated on Wall Street. Monday’s New York Times summarizes developments in the EU:

“Europe sank even deeper into recession than the United States in the closing months of last year, according to figures published Friday…The economy of the 16 countries sharing the euro currency declined by 1.5 percent in the fourth quarter, (an annualized drop of roughly 6 percent) according to the European Union’s statistics office. That is even worse than the 1 percent decline in the United States economy during that period, compared with the previous quarter.

“Today’s data wipes out any illusion that the euro zone is getting off lightly in this global downturn,” said Jörg Radeke, an economist at the Center for Economics and Business Research in London. (“Europe Slump Deeper than Expected” New york Times)

The “liquidationists” would like to see governments cut off the flow of funds to ailing financial institutions and let them fail by themselves. It’s Darwinian madness, like waiting out a heart attack on the kitchen floor instead of rushing to the hospital for emergency care. The global economy is decelerating at the fastest pace on record. 40 percent of global wealth has been wiped out. The banking system is insolvent, unemployment is soaring, tax revenues are falling, the markets are in shock, housing is crashing, deficits are soaring, and consumer confidence is at its lowest point in history. This is no time to cling to half-baked ideology. The global economy is undergoing a massive system-wide contraction which could spin out of control and plunge us into another world war. Political leaders need to grasp the urgency of the moment and keep the vehicle from careening into the ditch

Eli should not resign and give in, otherwise encourage many more others as victims.

    Whoooah monk,

Was that so? As you know, outsider like me has no access to internet all the time. Most of the time online on free wifi floating around wherever I fly.

Your feedback was really a boost (not “boast” like some people here) to me but I can still read some hard core ‘machai’ of your C4 boss playing their words or ‘tactical’ game which immorally support their political masters. How can these ‘machai’ stoop so low by hypothetically assume so and so daughters or wives.

Be a man, why get these ladies involved as if they have no mother? Anyway, just let them be, after all if the owner didn’t say ‘May I’ to these people, why should I an outsider non-Malaysian?

Whatever, immoral cannot win over moral, if not my teacher has to revise his teachings. As far as I am concerned, DIE IS CASTED, majority Malaysian already fixed their minds to vote PR. They have learned their lesson how messy was it to have PR at State level and BN at Federal level.

Malaysia is now at a scenario where whatever amount of moral actions of Umno / BN shall be perceived immoral. Even if they want to change for good, there is no chance, simply they have been given many chances to do so.

Politics is all about perception, and perception is dangerous.

By the way, mind you, I am not a man.

Shameful to those who need ‘not a man like myself’ to teach you guys to ‘act like a man’.

Elizabeth Wong, you are a lady, but your are more ‘man’ than many C4 machai. You can walk with your head straight up and continue to be Adun and Exco.

Why whatever bad thing happen people will start to blame BN?

    A) People Perception
    B) Their “good” Track records
    C) Both Above answer

Ask youself, you should know the right answer.

    Clipadi,

You have the answer: the “tipping point.”

This country cannot have an Opposition “state” and a BN “Federal Government.”

PKR must win both and kick the arse of BN out. That’s the key motivating theme, kich BN out of “state” and “federal” level. Otherwise the frgos keep hopping and more “snap-shots” floating around.

    monk,

No other way out, either fully PR or BN. For PR to be in power next round both in Federal and States, they need to revamp the whole screwed up institutions like Judiciary, Police, AG office, MCAC, Civil Services, Education System by engaging people of high moral, integrity and impartial.

I believe ex-Malaysians migrated elsewhere are more than willing to come back to service their ex-bf or ex-gf (haha) and reverse the trend of brain drain from there.

Malaysia need to reinstall the sense of morality and righteousness into the institutions that I mentioned above to be a promising country that even an outsider like me envy. If this is not coming, then Malaysia cannot hope for 2-party system that Dr. Hsu and many here are talking about, simply morality is not there, not just lacking.
