Stab in the back

Some time back, I wrote an article “This is how politics is played”.. That article illustrtates mainly on how to consolidate one’s power by divide and rule and by promoting ‘donkeys’ who are obedient over smart ‘monkeys’. Better still, by promoting some who have done something wrong and you can have a hold (leash around the neck)  on him…

I will  start a new category today named “political Art”  in which I shall mention how politics are being played…

All these  are from my  observation at the side after I joined a political party a few years ago..And I will pass this on so that newcomers who join politics know how to be aware of these dirty tactics and hopefully , from awareness , they can defend themselves.

Today the first Art of politics  is called ‘ smile and hug/shake-hand in front , stab in the back “.

The most famous ‘stab in the back’ example is best illustrated by this cartoon that I found from this website called Flat rock  (flatrock.org. nz)

a_stab_in_the_back

In 1939, Stalin was sure that Hitler would not attack him after they signed a Non-aggression pact (or rather to be more precise,  Germany and USSR Signed the pact through thier  respective foreign ministers), and was caught flat-footed when Hitler’s army attacked Russia.

Hitler signed tha pact to throw Stalin off so that Stalin would not start preparing for war, and his army thus gained an initial advantage and pushed the Russian army to outside Moscow….

That was history. But we always learn from history.. There are many other examples, past and present, that illustrate this Art  well. Some may not be the big guys. Even small fries in some insignificant parties are being stabbed at the back everyday, all over the place…Even in businesses, I was told by my business friends.

Give an example.. One eunuch leader could be nice to you, put you under his bureau/committe to work , may even invite you up to functions  to show the top guns that he is close to you, but in the next moment, he would bad mouth you and of course the top guns will believe because they thought he is close to yo uand know you.. .On another occasion, the top guns may want to pass an important  message to you through this  eunuch leader because of the false impression he created that he is close to you, but alas, he will not inform you ….. That is common experiences in the political sphere…

So the first thing after you join a party is to wear a thick steel vest so that no knife can penetrate you…

…………………………………………..

The above cartoon reminds me of a picture I saw in Malaysiakini in the article titled “Dr M – from London with Spite”.

abdullah-n-mm

These 2 are not of the same league as those in the cartoon above  as far as the world is concerned. But they are important persons who have shaped our country during the past 2 plus decades…

I would have thought since one is already retired and another on the brink of retiring, all will be forgiven with this embrace… Alas, the Malaysiakini article shows that this is not the case.

This is of course not ‘stabbing in the back”, this is just play acting, which brings me  to the second Art of politics.

The second art of politics is that  the pre-requisite to be a good politician  is that you must know how to act like a professional actor… Some of these leaders in fact would have won Malaysia its first Oscars, if only  they have gone to the entertainment world instead of politics…  Maybe that would have made Malaysia more famous…

Ah!. The perfect English gentleman which our politicians emulate very well. The lessons of Oxbridge. Predators like Hitler and Stalin were easy to read. The mandarins are much more difficult. Nice words, nice smile and all the while deciding from which direction to slice you.

BY the way, I got an interesting comment from a UMNO guy. He said that Of the BN parties, Gerakan and MIC have not changed at all. Wah! what an insult to Gerakan.

I heard today rumour from reliable source (if that is such a thing) that pak lah is dragging his feet stepping down. So pm2b is pre-empting arrangement for swearing in. The palace is also active moving to get pak lah to step aside. The U party calls it a bloodless coup d’etat.

This sound like the mutual back stabbing featured in the cartoon. So, Dr Hsu, it is not so strange after all.

We are so good in wayang kulit that in real life, there are alot of of these ‘wayang’. The hands behind the move is not shown at all… That makes them clever strategists and ‘good’ politicians…
    ………..

As to your UMNO friends comment, I think he as a point.. MIC and Gerakan have not really moved… The same sycophants are still around…

Without real change, the under currents will be stronger.. Try damming this currents will make the currents even stronger when it ultimately burst through… That much I can reveal…

Dr M is still angry at paklah and especially his sil. According to the UMNO guy, on the night before the pemuda election, Sil invited many of Dr M’ son’s supporters to fil’s official residence where he provided makan and 10-15k RM expense handout. Some of these people snapped photos of this occasion. so evidence exist.

Dr M is upset at this blatant money politics.

pm2b want to suspend sil. so saga not finished yet.

At first, I thought this article of yours is an April fool joke from you, Dr. Hsu. As I scrolled down to read further, I realized this is not a April fool trick, not even a “stab in the back”, but an “outright immoral act” of a so-called grand stateman.

The outgoing PM at least can be respected for not putting blame on the messes that he inherited when he assumed power from the grand stateman. He must be regretted now for not doing that earlier.

A bill to outlaw organic farming next week?
    News Brief – April 1, 2009

US House and Senate are about (in a week and a half) to vote on bill that will OUTLAW ORGANIC FARMING (bill HR 875). There is an enormous rush to get this into law within the next 2 weeks before people realize what is happening.

Main backer and lobbyist is (guess who) Monsanto (aspartame maker) – chemical and genetic engineering giant corporation. This bill will require organic farms to use specific fertilizers and poisonous insect sprays dictated by the newly formed agency to “make sure there is no danger to the public food supply”. This will include backyard gardens that grow food only for a family and not for sales.

If this passes then NO more heirloom clean seeds but only Monsanto genetically altered seeds that are now showing up with unexpected diseases in humans.

There is a video on the subject.

    And another one here.

The name on this outrageous food plan is Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009 (bill HR 875).

THIS IS REAL, FOLKS! PASS THIS ALONG TO ALL CONCERNED ON YOUR MAILING LISTS & CALL YOUR SENATE REPRESENTETIVES TODAY! Get on that phone and burn up the wires. Get anyone else you can to do the same thing. The House and Senate WILL pass this if they are not massively threatened with loss of their position…. They only fear your voice and your vote.

The best thing to do is to go here, all you have to do is put in your zip and it will give you your congressperson and how to get in touch with them. When you call their office someone will answer the phone, just tell them (politely) that you are calling to express your views on HR 875. Tell them your views, they’ll take your name and address and pass your comments along to the congressperson. The following link is a list of the U.S. senators and their contact info.

Rule 1 on survival as a leader in a political party ala Dr. Hsu. Promote a donkey. But its better to have a smart monkey with skeleton in the cupboard.

Dr. M is successful because he chooses the second option.

Well, in politics, hypocrisy is a fashionable vice and back-stabbing is part and parcel of this organised vice.

MCA is full of this activity, the party crisis caused between the president and his deputy, and continuing.

So AMNO being an organised hypocrisy naturally habors back-stabbing. And the on-going ceramahs in the two “bukits” and one “batang” also promote daily “back-stabbing.”

In fact, the prosperity of the country owes it to the hardworking people and NOT the government. The problem with mindsets of the 1900s, is that the people MUST be grateful to the government. For christ sake, the government should be grateful to the people for electing them to lead the country and NOT the other way round.

Yeah, one day, your dog will demand your gratitude for keeping it. Primitive mindsets need changing.

Perak has the best potential to develop into a major hub for food and agriculture in this region. There are major food brands like Ngan Yin Peanuts, Ipoh White Coffee. etc.

But the BN govt had been putting obstacles to prevent these farmers from growing like land conversion. Preventing them to be big players. But they have flourished despite the obstacles. But they could make this agribusiness really big if the constraints are removed.

Agri business need a lot of commitment, labour intensive and investment. A number of agri based business have shifted to Vietnam. Why Vietnam not Malaysia? Of course business concern will look into cost saving. As for your information groundnut industry is very labour intensive, even our youngster don’t want to work in rubber or oil palm plantation. Is it not a problem to save cost if we get the groundnut back and package back here in Perak?

What have Gerakan done for Perakian? With their wawasan open university at least more than thousands of students have the opportunities to further their studies. How about new villagers in Perak got their infrastructure development, Chinese school expansion in Gerakan held constituency, scholarship, Gerakan education loan, new villagers getting their land title, request for Form 6 classes to be set up, recreation park and the list goes a lot way. What have Gerakan done for Penang?

No doubt, we need to see what PR have done. Setting up “tiger park” in Penang? Sensationalise issue to gain political mileage. Make huhahuha issues for emotional and sensation issues. Is it rational or logical for this type of issues and bring benefit for the people? Have we learnt from history? Have we really done our research well and throughly? The people will make the decision to reject those who are not sincere to serve the people. That is why the people have make their choice in the last March 8.

No. My friend, the export business will not be in Malaysia. I have come across many businesses being done this way.
