Who says leopard cannot change its spots?

There is a saying that leopards do not change their spots. I have no way of confirming this, since I do not rear any leopards, but i believe this since this is the observations made by many wise people over the centuries.

Can a person change? or more specifically, can a person’s character change? Again, there is a Chinese saying that ” it is easier to change the mountains and rivers, than to change a person’s original character”. This is again a wisdom passed down from generations to generations.

Having siad all these,  I do believe that our views do change even if our characters do not. Our views are shaped by learning, seeing, experience over the years, and our peers’s views.

Bt this change is normally a slow and subtle process.. There is rarely a 180 degree change…You do not become a dog lover from a dog hater over the night, nor a greedy person can change into a non-greedy person overnight.

This morning, I check my calender twice. No, it is April  25th not April Fool Day. No, Malaysian insider is not playing any tricks. The interview, as reported in today MI,  must be true.  I refer to the MI’s interview with the former Dentist MB of a State which is now under the Pakatan rule.

I will paraphrase some of the paragraphs of the article here:

from MI:

—Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo, who is known to be a champion of the “Malay unity” cause, is now urging the government to open up more of the economy to non-Malays.

The Selangor opposition leader, who had been critical of the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) for appointing a non-Bumiputera to head PKNS last year, also wants more government jobs to be given to non-Malays.

Well, I hope this is one leopard that can change its spots ( maybe due to vote loss or trying to gain back power genetic engineering.) … for the sake of Malaysian unity and our posterity, i really hope that this leopard can change its spots… I also hope that other leopards can  defy nature and change their spots , too, for the sake of Malaysians… I really hope that this change in spots is not due to plastic surgery artificial made-over with paints or new technology like photoshops…

Ha! This dental-leopard is only singing his master’s tune. No spot change, possibly new dentures to fit in with new change of wind direction. He is prepared to do anything to get back into power and the good graces of his political masters. The practitioner of self interest, spin and deception is at it again. Heil, Toyo.

Nobody should be taken in by Khir Toyo. Umno politicians have mastered the art of saying different things to different audiences. To a Malay audience, you’ll see his real racist colours.

Unfortunately for them, saying different things to different audiences doesn’t work so well now that we have a free flow of information. However, Umno politicians are very slow to change old habits.

    Dr. Hsu,

    posterity = 後世, 後代, 子孫

    prosperity = 興隆, 繁榮, 旺盛

    Which one you mean?

Actually, which one also doesn’t matter. I won’t put my trust on this leopard. I am not so sure he is a ‘qualified’ dentist either. If no other dentist available in this world, I rather to remain “bohgeh”.

Khir Toyol ? You must be kidding. (btw. toyol is an evil spirit in malay folklore). You should hear what the Malay say about him. Nothing like the mention his name to a Malay audience to get an equivalent of four letter words.

He is trying to ride with the wind. He has lost the support of his own community and UMNO seemed to have put him out to dry. His responses to the selcat inquiry made the Malay angry at him.

So, our toyol friend is trying to make himself relevant. He is like an old lion trying to paint a few stripes on his body to merge in with the zebras. He may try to disguise his look but he still smells the same.

I was told he was made MB because Mukhriz supported him and recommended him to his old man. But he turned around and bite Mukhriz in the last UMNO youth election. So, I think the toyol guy is not in good shape.

    Dear All,

this is an extract of a report by an independent journalist which shows that the Election Commission is just PRO BN! If you support this report, please cut and paste on every group in all BLOGS and place in this world. Thank you.

“The same views have been echoed by no less than the Election Commission (EC). Plus, the EC has openly supported proposals by some BN leaders such as Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir and Tan Keng Liang to prevent “unnecessary” elections. These include suggestions for stricter laws, and penalties for elected reps or their parties should an elected representative resign for reasons other than what’s stated in Article 48(1) of the Federal Constitution.”

A very good article on Umno by Pulau Jerejak Adun, YB Sim Tze Tzin,

This condemned leopard may not change his spots but he did change his stupid face by injecting hormones.

This leopard claimed disorientated saying he desn’t know a lot of realities on the ground including the miserable pay of estate workers and sufferings of non-bumiputras.

Well said, it means he is not fit to be a leader and a MB at that for so many years. Where is his office? In the Himalayan snow mountains?

But he knows how to mismanage and abuse public funds, according to PKR MB Khalid.

And the emperor is smarter than the leopard, walking the ground, Pudu and the congested areas. Now our Lordship should also know how inefficient, useless and hopeless the performance of the Datuk Blender.

Yes, datuk blender goes home and put KL problems inside the blender and squashed into juice and throws into the longkang. See, no more problems (according to Datuk Blender, of course).

Approving more luxurious apartments at Ampang Hilir and a BN housing project (8 blocks of apartments for top civil servants) at Desa Pandan is causing really bad traffic congestion. You think this Blender gives a s***t whether KL motorists get stuck every morning. Or anywhere else.

The traffic lights in KL don’t seem to synchronize with the volume of traffic and there is no improvement to ensure better public transportation (i.e. buses, a monopoly due to NEP) and all this problems suffered by ordinary folks.

I remembered a joke, a former MCA president took a LRT to MCA HQ and persuade Malaysians to do the same EVERYDAY. Maybe it was his only trip in his lifetime on the LRT while most time travelling inside his luxurious foreign made car.

On traffic jams (issue) alone, KL urbanites should not vote in any BN candidates for another century!!

Coming from the mouth of a hyper hypocrite, and one who has thoroughly discredited himself with his self justification for abusing public funds, your optimism is unprecedented. Dr. Isn’t this why so often we have been had……again and again, but still refuses to accept a fact for a fact? Isn’t such failed optimism that led us down the path to where this country is today?

I see it as a duty to be a cynic now a days and to see is to believe; rather that take such verbosity uttered by unprincipled politicians to hope for things to change for the better.

Lets not just live on hope. It didn’t take us where we wanted, and I have every reason to believe it never will.

Your article “1 step forward, and 3 steps back” is exactly what the situation is now, and that article has never been more accurate in its description of the ruling government and its proponents.

Please. KT realizes that if he wants to have any chance at regaining influence within UMNO, he needs to toe Najib’s 1Malaysia line, and in order to do that he needs the non-Bumi’s back on UMNO’s side. thus, he has to pander to Selangor’s influential Chinese population. Law of nature will strike ultimately, present, later, near future or in future. Predictions may come true if base on karma concept and may not come true during our present lifetime due to timing differences, but would be true at certain point of time.

Many predict someone may not in office in full term and from the trend of happenings, these are very likely to happen.

My Hokkien friend told me, “chin seng” means “very thrifty”. So while Malaysia is in abundant of resources, such richness may be depleted over time due to corruptions and malpactices of a few at top. So, to avoid such predictions to come true in near future, Malaysia people need to be “chin seng” in their eating habits, and to vote PR to avoid the situation like “Chicken ala Carte”, as PR consists of better quality or better moral people than that of Umno / BN.
