Even though the saying “man proposes God disposes” may sound fatalistic, leaving everything to fate, all of us may have one time or another come across events that can be best described by this phrase.

Sometimes, no matter how much we try to avoid certain things, they still happen.

BN has decided not to contest the Penanti by election, which in my view is the right decision . Why fight a battle which you are  sure to lose?

But somehow fate has a funny way of doing thing.

This time an existing State Assemblyman has passed away in Kelantan, paving the way for yet another by election.

This time UMNO will have no choice but to contest this by election, since this by election is due to natural forces and not ‘man made factor”.

Given the sentiments of the people , UMNO will have a hard time trying to fight this by election.

Another defeat will be bad for UMNO….as well as BN.

BN will surely lose but since federal power is in their hand, they will manoeuvre it to their advantage before GE 13, unless a solid 70 % of the voters opt for PR to seal their fate once and for all.

Unfortunately a Pas member died. How I wish a umno/MCA MP or Adun have similar fate of dying in this year and see the fun of many byelections.

The good dies young thats the saying.

Why not you just sit back and wait for another 3 and a half years for the next GE to seal the fate for umno/mca/bn if they do not do something to save their sinking ship.

Fate is full of divine optimism. The curtain has not fallen and the show has not ended. There will be more than 7 by-elections, a record beating 1989???? Not sure of the year with the most bye bye elections.

BN was established in 1974 to supersede Alliance, in numerology with master number 3, symbolises trinity. Heaven, Earth and Man.

Unless the leadership acts and practices in harmony to this power of divine justice and cosmic laws, it’s “kaput”, heading for self-destruction. And the reality is, it’s already on the path…..

Wonder what is the number of UMNO members in Penanti. If PKR win with overwhelming Malay votes, it will be an indication that UMNO has lost support from the Malays base (including its memebrs) , again.

Whether UMNO is in or not in the Penanti by-election, it is still in play. Sitting out of Penanti do not mean it is off the hook.

On another election because of natural cause, god work in mysterious ways. He will sent the Grim Reaper again and again to visit the YBs over the next 3 years.

No patient to wait for 3 1/2 years. The more byelections Pakatan wins, Najibs and BN balls will shrink and we may see more concrete and truthful changes , well at the least he is aware that changes have to take place. So far talk only !!

Winning more byelections have a psychological impact on Bn and on the ppl as a whole. A trend is set that becomes the norm for voters and BN will make more mistakes in the use of force through their security apparatus and which inturns would build up more hatred towards them. Even the fair minded BN supporters would tilt.

Other organization like BTN would further enhance their lecture towards more loyalty to Bn, further emphasis and pressure on non malays not to question the NEP and ketuanan concept which would further alienate them from BN. Even the fair minded Malays are against the way it is run. “”Here I always hope that the children from the MCA, Gerakan and MIC politicians attends this module and gauge for themselves how their fathers have been selling out their interest””

BTN is good for Pakatan. Reminds me of a Malay friend who attended a short course. In the opening speech the lecturer condemned BN and their cronies.

    BTN works both ways…

More byelection and more nonsense from BN and more eyes will open.

    Hi! Its 2.45am.

    “kita merancang, Allah tentukan”.

As in penanti by-e, BN merancang not to contest.

Can BN keep on not contesting when Allah takes away one adun after another in future?

RPK is right to say that PM is now working on perception. One of it is that Umno is not involved in Penanti bye-election. Do you think so? I am not. Umno would not give ‘free lunch’ one. Those independents contested are sponsored by them. Let these independents lose their deposits, after all, they are not the one who paid for the deposits.

More bye-bye elections to come…..continuous and build up momentum until 13 GE. It is better they go for snap election in Perak and not playing perception games.

    Before rice turns porridge
    Perak Assembly should be dissolved
    Rice is fast becoming porridge
If Perak Assembly not being dissolved by then
Stools from porridge will be coming from asshole

Sound disgusting, but it is very true. What is your next step?

Not only is UMNO behaving Godly, other component parties like MCA also expects the people to show “gratitude” too (by supporting them, of course, a barter trade).

It never comes to their mindsets that they are in government to serve and not to expect as though they are Gods giving “material blessings” (like $$$$ to Chinese schools).

If only these arrogant politicians are as humble as Gandhi, Pakatan would have fallen like a pack of cards. But no….

Realise, all the BN ministerial “gods” are running around like Santa Claus, dishing out $$$$, taxi licenses..etc, with a hidden message, “Please make sure you give us votes….”

    More goodies, please……

I was being snapped by a PKR YB in a meeting yesterday.

Even ktk under pressure didnt do such when he was CM. My friends were disappointed to see this PKR YB reality of him, prior we only hear stories. He is unfit, shall make known to DSAI.

I m not disappointed with this YB, but he has forgotton he got the chair from rakyat.

Why nowadays YBs so fast forgotten they are there becoz of rakyat?

power and trappings are very intoxicating. I have seen people changing from humble to arrogant , after they become so=called people’s representatives. Power corrupts.. his is true since time immemorial.

“BN has decided not to contest the Penanti by election”

I should say it is umno who has decided not ..BN as a whole. The other component parties just follow.

My question to you if a DAP MP resign will a by election be held. Will BN say no to a contest by Gerakan or MCA or Will MCA or Gerakan stand up to umno and say we will go for a by election

    Just thinking aloud.

i m defending the poor kampung people frm signing any documents frm this so called company rep. who claiming this and tat approval so daringly open.

pkr yb suddenly reacted defensively with witness around me.

we decided if that company rep teaches kpg people but for his own interest to secure permit, we will make police report. no point telling this pkr yb. we do not trust him.

its tiring that to ensure he delivers we got to inform dsai for each and every time.

I m partiless now after leaving umno. others r pas & pkr in that jkkk.

the pas rep in jkkk was finding ways to remove me by trying have vote over not “legal” platform until one frend said “is this jkkk(n) only meant for pas people”.

suddenly, tune changed, i m accepted “again”.

during bn, delays like this dont happen in jkkk.

3hours ago, the pengerusi jkkk cant even confirm if pkr yb have submitted list to suk.
    so much for CAT.

Sorry to say this but it is your kampung people that voted this yb into office. So maybe it is their idea that they want the project for that kampung. So please dont stop them from what they want. IF and only if they prepared to go to the yb’s office to have candle holding sessions, then that means they are fed up. Other than that please stay clear of that kampung.

It is not what you want anymore, the majority rules. if the kampung people did not complain of slow or what not, why you want to be a hero?

    Dear Batu Giant

    sorry, you dont understand.

i should go in details here that my kampung people dont know the project enough. dont know anything of strcuture plan. dont know their rights.

today after me and a few frends beri kesedaran, most kampung people dont want the projet but dont know how to go about it.

these people are not like educated chinese know how about from pelan induk down to pbt.
now many of them realised they do have rights.

they are being perlembukan by umno 50years and we dont want to happen again under PR.

last two days, many awaken from sleep as why not put the kampung under warisan.

we are group of concern kampung people and yb is repeating the same thing as what umno did to us. dsai said in many of speeches of helping malays and others but yb is not delivering. we got one pkr yb with umno attitude.

this week are meeting up with dsai.

Let us take an hypothetical case. If there is a by election in Bukit Lanjan, for example, My opinion is that Gerakan should tell BN that BN should not contest.

In fact this was my view when Eli Wong sent in her resignation letter and went on leave that time. I have made known my view to leadership that we should in fact support Eli Wong to stay back as the ADUN, since she has not done anything wrong. (pls also refer my article then on Eli WOng denouncing partisan politics and those who are so despicable as to release her photos), but this has become academic when Eli decided to continue, which in my opinion is the right thing to do.

But for the sake of resigning and create a by election just to test the sentiments, as in your example, I do not quite support that. If that seat already belongs to DAP, why should the ADUN resign ? Resigning just for testing the sentiments of the people is no longer necessary now.. We all know from the past few by elections the sentiments of the people.

But Perak is a different case. In Perak, because people are suffering and because there are so many things in the grey areas, it should go back to the people once and for all, to decide who should be the government.

( My article on Eli wong is at this link:… It was also posted in Malaysian Insider , MT, and carried by many other blogs including ‘Walk with Eli’ blog. )

  31. Dr Hsu
    May 25, 2009 @ 12:58:33

that is why i have advocated that sometimes partisan politics are bad.. Look at USA, Republicans can work for Democrats and Democrats can work for republicans…even in cabinet positions…

IN Malaysia, we are too partisan.. The article on Partisan politics which I posted in above comment
    mentioned this:

Political parties are just tools to achieve certain aims. Just because we are members of Party A does ot mean that we must try all out to put down members of Party B. If certain policies of Party B are good for the people, support those policies. If certain policy of Party A is not good , criticise it as hard as you could .

If our children are wrong, we must let them know that what they do is wrong; only then can they grow up to be good people.

Why must politics be dragged to such low levels?

In boxing, there are rules to obey. One must not hit under the belt. In life, there are certain acts that are taboo, such as adultery , murders and rape, character assassination and others… . In politics, we are supposed to support what is right and good and reject what is bad and wrong; it does not matter whether such right or wrong things are from your own party or from the opposite side…

  32. klm
    May 25, 2009 @ 14:09:39

Dr. Hsu. Unfortunately, the politicians are intellectually immature, especially BN. They have it too good for 50 years. To them, the rule is if you are with not me, you are against me. That is why the whole government machinery has gone berserk. Character assassination, police intimidation, civil (dis)service, dubious judicial judgments etc.

The only way to to make the correction is to chuck out the BN govt and to build up a viable alternative party. Malaysia need a check and balance in the government system.

We will go through a period of turmoil. But in the end, we will have a more fair and democratic governing system.

Taiwan is a good example of how the government system went from a dictatorship of KMT, a period of messy and unsavory govt under Ah Pian, and now back to a more open and democratic KMT. The good point on Taiwan revolution is that there is no bloodshed.

Malaysia may have to go through this path.

  33. A true Malaysian
    May 25, 2009 @ 15:00:48

    Dr. Hsu,

Partisan mentality is still very strong in both divides of BN and PR, but BN’s one is more apparent as the history of it is longer than that or PR. PR, being a relatively new coalition, should learn from the history of BN and should avoid the partisan mentality at all cost.

Just look at Perak fiasco. KTK and OKT do not even ‘miow’ even though I believe, they know who is right and who is wrong. On some bad policies, KTK did make some ‘miow’, but no further action after that. Such ‘miow’ earned Gerakan the name of ‘the conscience of BN’, but they are still not good to convince rakyat to give back support to them. Rakyat still regard such ‘miow’ as ‘lips service’ more than anything else.

Rakyat is now at the point where whatever good policies Umno and BN offer, rakyat still don’t buy them as ‘good’ simply because they have lost their credibility.

They are not remorseful for their wrongs, put it this way. FINISHED

  34. klm
    May 25, 2009 @ 15:31:37

I think some one sliced his vocal cord. KTK do not miow even if he is kicked these days. He is house trained not to say anything.
