Why the need for private jet?

Politics in Malaysia never can be so unpredictable that you never know what is going to happen the next moment.

One moment you have the port authority making a police report against a company , the next moment you have the CEO of that company, incidentally a VIP and MP,  making a shocking allegation that he had donated 10 million dollars ( or is it a loan?)  to the minister in charge of transport as well as heading  a big component party, to be used for party activities.

The minister has denied the charge. Since this is one person’s word against another, I am unable to say who is telling the truth and who is telling lies. And i am not going to speculate.

But one thing is clear. Both had admitted that the minister concerned has on few occasions made use of the company’s private jet (5 times according to Malaysiakini) and the amount for using this service is up to US $40,000 equivalent to RM 140,000.

I have a few questions here.

private jetfrom malaysiakini

Why was there a need to take this private jet?

Where did the minister travel to with this private jet?

SInce the jet is a small one according to the file picture shown in Malaysiakini, i presume the travel is within Malaysia. Why the need to spend on the average RM 28000 per trip (140,000 divided by 5) when the minister can travel first class in MAS plane to anywhwere in Malaysia for much much lesss amount?

Is that not a waste of public funds?

I hope the minister can give a satisfactory answers to all these questions. I also hope that the allegation of the 10 million being given out should be investigated to see who is telling the truth….

Why was there a need to take this private jet?

Where did the minister travel to with this private jet?

    1. Pride, to show off to the public, their are the king makers.
    2. Private deals negotiation, booze up, and abit of fiddling in the air.
    3. Destination for some dirty holidays..out of public view.

Before the last GE, there was a minister who travleed overseas for holidays with his whole family, uncle and aunties included. Poor transportation companies in port klang have to foot the bills. Lots more..

It is impossible for one not to speculate. In Malaysia, the way the government runs things without give a clear and truthful answers always lead to speculation from the public. The signs are always that they have something to hide.

OTK, when he announced that “to tell all, nothing to hide” about a year ago, he did not really know the extend of the troubled PKFZ. He must had a great shock from the report finding, but then its too late for him to try and cover up and he is being bombarded daily on his promise to tell all.

The guilty ones will have no choice but to fight back, hence OTK claiming of serious threats including death against him and family.

The 10mil donation or loan can be a part of the conspiracy to stop the whole process of further investigation or at least to divert attention away and keep OTK busy defending himself.

If the government is sincere to uncover the whole truth about the PKFZ fiasco, actions to freeze bank accounts, passports impounded must be taken now. The longer you wait the guilty ones are going to get away or unless the government knows and willing to let them go free.

This is not a simple day to day corruptions, I am quite sure that it involves very high position leaders as well, that is why the macc dare not touch all the reports that had been made.

Dr. Hsu. I think it is ok for a minister to travel in a private jet when he is short of time. Time is precious. I have no quarrel with that. The private was on charter and did not belong to him.

The extravagance is when people like Azalina fly in her own private jet that is bigger than the PM’s official jet. Khairy hop around in his own private jet. Where did these people get the money.

But my question is where did this Tiong guy gets his money to financed all his assets. Looks like scamming PKA in the PKFZ is one of these nefarious activities. His rice bowl got broken and he starts slashing around.

    We should focus on Tiong.

It is clear how corrupted our BN government is and will never changed nor matter what. I hope we rayaat are not fooled by Najib promise of reform etc. This is just for show only. Look at what his minister including DPM is saying. Enough is enough. Let vote them out in the next GE. I do not think that any party running malaysia will be worse than this.

Dear klm, I beg to differ with you. OTK is supposed to represent malaysian chinese. What has he done to speak up for issue like ISA, Beng Huat’s death and the claim by our DPM that non malay are demanding to scrap malay’s right (this has never been true). He kept queit because he is just a puppet as he has many “skeletons in his closet” that UMNO can use against him (such as the alleged RM10M donation). He must be removed as President of MCA as he will no longer be effective to protect the right of the Malaysian chinese.

If PKFZ can be resolved justly and those guilty punished, then we can begin to have hope that the nation can be rid of corruption and waste.

OTK and MCA should not be our priority.

I agree with AcHooi. Kill the plunders of PKFZ now.
As for MCA and OTK, we can chuck them out the next election. Let us have some priority.

I heard that Tiong and his company KDSB had invoiced PKA for over 1B Rm and been paid for things not delivered. This was full scale cheating and stealing with nobody to stop them.

Dont care if OTK and MCA is a white cat or black cat. as long the cat catches the mouse.

klm is wrong to say that its ok for OTK and MCA to go scot free but must catch Tiong. All must be brought to book. But knowing MACC, these are too big cases for them to handle and since they are BN MPs, so no investigations.

If they rae PR reps, bet you their offices would have been searched high and low from day to nite and nite to day. Thas BN and MACC for you.

klm, bear in mind that OTK is paid by the people’s money and I bet he would have use our money to pay for the jet payments. Is this right?

Wow….10 million for OTK and I bet probably only half really goes out to their divisions as its normal for BN parties to siphon off part of any money that goes to them. Ask SemiValue….he is good in that.

So now, instaed of PKFZ 24billion, there goes another 1o million and where does all the money comes from? My guess is that its part of the overclaimed money from PKFZ.

Since Tiong says he donates millions to people, better ask all charitable organisations to go line up at the front of his iffice building with letters of appeal asking from him for donations. Hope he is generous to donate to charitable organisations rather than to big crooked MCA divsions. No wondr everyone is fighting to be the head of divisions…main reason is….MONEY!!!! So you can see…MCA is also Money Collecting Agency. Shame on you OTK…always profess your so called Chinese virtues with lots of Chinbese proverbs….puit….

Hey klm, we have lots of cats outside….if not for these outside cats, will we know so much about PKFZ? So only MCA and OTK is the person who exposed this PKFZ issue? Trace backwards and you can see who are the real cats.

MY MCA friend told me when OTK became the new President of MCA, he said that MCA shall rise again as OTK is clean and is daring and even dare to oppose UMNO if the need arises…..but many times OTK had kept silent when Utusan, Berita Harian and NST all played up racial issues in their articles. Now comes this new findings from Tiong and asking for 10million supposedly for MCA divisions….and getting cheap shot free flights in private jets…maybe makes him part of the elite to travel in private jets.

I am waiting to see more shit being stirred and I am going to see my MCA friend to ask him more.

    Aug 13, 2009 @ 17:39:28

I don’t know if the whole episode is one sendiwara but as I wrote before, I think OTK handle the case unexpectedly well. I don’t know if it is a tiger head snake tail kind of finishing and hope it is not. KLM is right, be realistic and know what is the priority. There are hundreds if not thousands case that evaporated in front of our sight and this is one of the very few that surface, and here we criticize the one who could just ignore our call and buat tak tahu for a few year, and retire with his millions?

  14. Rhan
    Aug 13, 2009 @ 17:56:26

So Chanjoe, what have your many cats done? Issue a few statements in the newspaper and internet and expect to see result? Why the hell Jeff Ooi retract back his assertion and I don’t see LKS criticize LGE on how he handle the Kampung Bala issue? And how many times LKS & LGE keep silence when Pas and Harakah play up the religion issue?

Try organise a function and tells the volunteers please come on your own transport and buy your own lunch, see how many turn up?

The way the rat is responding in a ferocious manner means that there are two possibilities:

    1. It is cornered and fighting for its life
    2. It has powerful UMNO backers who want to take OTK down.

No one is so stupid to openly fight with a powerful senior minister. But this Tiong rat is doing that.

Most MCA cat – Ong Ka Ting etc will ran away. This OTK is staking his reputation and future on this fight. He hs no other choice but to fight on and to win. If he looses, he lost his presidency.
For that reason, this cat must fight to win.

For now, we need to support him. Especially to kick UMNO’s bottom. We have the next election to settle other scores with OTK and MCA. For now my enemy’s enemy is my friend.

Haaa, haaaa, I told you these two months, lots of things going to happen including the earthquakes…and more show to come.

And one more by election not yet happen. Oops, if it happens….

Anyway, if a person didn’t take anything, why ask if it is a loan, grant, donation or a gift. Just say, didn’t take even one cent. In English language, it’s very clear. “I didn’t even take one cent from this guy.”

    Even a child can understand.

Unless, the money is taken and now want to argue whether it is a loan or a gift.

Of course, out of two persons quarrelling, one is a liar. So, time will tell. And karma will also will tell. After eating chilli, the pain of heat will come.

Adios, relax and watch more show coming and of course, more karmic effects…..for those bankrupt of morals…

And one stupid minister said, it’s a personal quarrel, nothing to do with the corrupt coalition.

  21. Meng
    Aug 14, 2009 @ 01:25:40

The PKFZ and the 10 million are two separate issues. Similarly the usage of the jet has not connection with PKFZ.

Tiong felt the heat and is throwing shit.

OTK should admit that the money received was for the MCA fund and show proof of spending.

Was Tiong forced to make a donation?? if no.. he should just shut up.

If there are foul play in PKFZ and if Tiong is involved he should come out to provide some answers…why throw shit.

Which political party do not ask for donation. ???

  22. klm
    Aug 14, 2009 @ 09:19:33

I heard that OTK did not received the 10M RM for MCA. Maybe somebody in MCA did.

What Meng say is correct. The 10M RM and private jet are different issues.

  23. Meng
    Aug 14, 2009 @ 10:34:16

This is also a lesson for Pakatan. Never never receive donation from someone who has a baggage full of rubbish. When one is corrupted he has to cover up his arse and money thrown is an investment and the one who has received will be obligated.

If OTK has not received the money he should come out a winner.

  24. klm
    Aug 14, 2009 @ 12:17:47

What I heard was – OTK made the police report yesterday to get an investigation started.
There are parties friendly to OTK arranging this.

I think this Tiong guy may not stand up to a police investigation.

Meng is right. Pakatan must look at every gift horse in the mouth. Wisemen in antiquity had learned this lesson.

    Aug 14, 2009 @ 12:18:41

OTK will not look good if he took the 10M in this investigation.

  26. Dr Hsu
    Aug 14, 2009 @ 12:28:56

If OTK has not taken the money, and he pursued the PKFZ without fear and favour, I think it would be very good for him.

He was the only one in Klang valley who won a parliamentary seat from BN.. The other was Zulhasnan, but in the latter, he was saved by the postal votes.

So there is very high expectation of him in this PKFZ case.

just for your info, Tiong is HCG’s boss…perhaps we should ask him about the true story.

  27. Dr Hsu
    Aug 14, 2009 @ 12:54:14

That is why, if you are involved in a political party, never do a step wrong. Never ask for favour, never owe people favour, never ask for positions and never ask for titles etc etc etc.. That way you are safe….BUt in Malaysia, politics can be so expensive, whenever there is a GE,most of the candidates will go asking for help from business friends.

The first thing you learn in economics is that there is no such thing as a free lunch.. SO if you ask businessmen for donation, they will want something in return…

This is actually the pitfall of democracy in certain countries when campaigning can be so excessive and involved so much of money..

By right, an election campaign should be just a simple one, deliver a simple message and let the people judge you on your record and your manifesto.

WHen an election campaign runs into hundreds of thousands, how not to have ‘donations’ from businessmen, and how not to have’ corruption’, how not to have secret ‘files’ that some one high up can use against you??

That is why, although i am a memebr of a party, I never want to get involved in active politics and participate in elections and so on..Politics have become so dirty that politicians have lost the trust of the ordinary people… It is in fact difficult to attract good people to go into politics, unlike in the 50s and 60s, when many joined because of ideals… Now even those who join on idealism become corrupted once they need money to conduct a campaign….

    Aug 14, 2009 @ 22:04:21

It’s easy to say the RM10m is a separate issue from PKFZ. Or the minister’s using the private jet is another “separate” issue.

Are they separate? How could it be separate when all these arguments come from two persons who are closely connected to a common denominator: PKFZ.

This is no argument but I stick to my observation: everything is connected. Stretch your neck, the show is not over yet………the truth everything bloody thing is in a mess…and connected.

Politicians have no morals, which ever race or religion, money is King! Politicians here feel the rakyat is their servant hence the free spending of our tax money.

If we rally together and not pay taxes (never will happen) we can stop all these excesses…where got use our money for good, even petrol dollars are used to fund expensive events and private yachts and jets. Former PM’s excesses comes to mind.

Looks like we are only brave to offer comments using aliases on the web…no balls to really do some damage…the mentality of the times, too used to the comforts that our forefathers fought for us.

When my ex Executive Chairman had to settle for a second hand private jet two years ago, we the senior managements was to be blamed for him unable to get a new one. His greed is so massively-galactic.
