CSI Malaysia and misinformation

There is now a suggestion that TBH could have committed suicide, according to a Malaysiakini report on the inquest.

This is from Malaysiakini:

Pathologist Dr Khairul Azman Ibrahim, testifying at the Teoh Beng Hock inquest, said he did not see any strong evidence that indicated the political aides’ death was a homicide.

He said his finding was based on four factors. They are:

  1. There were no signs of struggle based on injuries suffered by Teoh and based on the evidence gathered at the 14th floor of Plaza Malasam, from where Teoh is believed to have fallen to his death,
  2. Checks on Teoh’s body revealed no DNA marks from Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officers and other witnesses,
  3. A pen (from MACC) was intact in Teoh’s pocket. If there was a struggle, the pen would have been thrown out in the melee, and
  4. Injuries suffered by Teoh was caused by a fall from a high place.

Since this case is still on, I refrain from commenting whether such views could hold water, since the case is still on, and the coroner has not made any judgement yet,   and I urge the readers to do the same..This is despite we know that there is no motive for him to commit suicide..

There is an intereting write up about TBH, and I would like the readers to read in Hartal MSM. The link is :  http://hartalmsm.wordpress.com/2009/08/13/teoh-boon-hock-independent-csi-findings/

The Malaysian Insider reported this:

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 — RTM reporter Eliana Mazlan admitted that she does not know which party Karpal Singh belongs to during his sedition trial in the High Court today.

She also does not know who Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is and only described him as the president of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

Eliana, the prosecution’s second witness, was subjected to a rigorous cross-examination by defence counsel Jagdeep Singh, and appeared rattled by the lawyer’s questions on the third day of Karpal‘s sedition trial.

She could not identify the component parties of Pakatan Rakyat and was taught a history lesson by Jagdeep on what transpired in the 2008 general election.

Eliana was also unable to show a clear understanding of Jagdeep’s questions on the transcript of the tape recording during Karpal’s press conference on Feb 6 this year.

The 26-year-old reporter had only been on the job for two months on the day of the press conference and her testimony is crucial to the introduction of an RTM video recording of Karpal’s statement to the press.

I can understand that a lot of young people are not interested in politics, and they do not read newspapers or follow news programs on TV.

BUt for a reporter reporting for a major news organisation like RTM who does not know what component parties are there in Pakatan, or who is Anwar Ibrahim and Karpal Singh, how is she going to report to her news agency? It is therefore no surprise that she was unable to show a clear understanding on the transcript of the tape recording during Karpal’s press conference.

This is again a case of expert having no expertise and a clear case of loss of excellence..

Just the other day, another reporter from a MSM misunderstood the meaning of   ‘ultra vires’. When a reporter misunderstand the speech of a certain person, it can lead to dangerous consequences .

Imagine , the reportings of these people are followed by thousands of people, all of whom will be misinformed…

Someone once said: If you read MSM, you are misinformed; if you dont read them, you are not informed.

I wonder what is the standard of hiring?

I am so ashamed of these fellow Malaysians who dare to call themselves as reporters…and with their pariah reporting, no wonder Utusan can come out with pariah news inciting racial hatred.

Its also no wonder for the reporter to fail to understand whats happening as she would have been having a ball of her time getting ready typed scripts from BN goons and so no problems fro her to report news on BN goons but when come to opposition leaders press conferences, she is lost in the sea and probably was too proud to shre her info with other reporters as she must be too proud cuz she’s from RTM…hahahaha.

A product of our education system failure.

If Karpal Singh is to go to jail becuz of her and other similar reporting in the press, then this country is rotten and what has Rais Yatim got to say about this?

People working from RTM and Utusan are not called reporters. They are called instigators and spies.
Treat them as what they are and you wont be wrong.

Professional reporters will not come near them.

What I don’t understand is why wasn’t the body of late TBH sent for a second finding.????

Why was the fast action taken to reduce the body to ashes.??? Ashes don’t tell you any story???
    All evidence gone.!!!

If they can cover up Kugan even with a second finding, what is TBH to them. A non malay’s life isn’t important to them…

    Another cover up.

Personally I don’t bother to read anymore of these nonsense going on as you would more or less guess the finding to which direction it is heading to ?

Does the two reporters reflect the quality of M’sian “mainstream” journalism? The Utusan one did not know a simple Latin term such as “ultra vires” – thought it meant to insult (haha – at least he did not think that it is virus related to Ultraman???). The RTM one is equally uninformed – (i) does not know the lion of DAP and (ii) I and We – the same (probably cannot differentiate singular and plural). Sigh…

Stopped following TBH inquest – too sad and probably can guess the conclusion of the inquest (why follow it and make myself ANGRY). Another sigh…

    Aug 14, 2009 @ 22:00:15

For once, let me call myself an Annoyed Malaysian. Annoying should be the rightful word to describe what we read over here in this posting of Dr. Hsu, as those “experts without expertise” apparently do not know what is shame or shameful. If they feel no shame of themselves, I do.

I said before, I have no qualm in the government helping the Malays, of which Umno opine Malay is the weaker race among the people of Malaysia. This admission of Malay being the weaker race, is in fact, an insult to many Malay Malaysians. Just look at Haris Ibrahim, Art Harun, Raja Petra Kamaruddin, Malik Imtiaz, and many more. Are these gentlemen of any inferior to the other races? Coincidentally, these gentlemen are all the products before the switch of language medium from English to Bahasa Malaysia (or Bahasa Melayu? I confused).

To me, these “experts without expertise” are victims of the present government’s own doing. The policy of only the Malay can be the Head of government departments had resulted in the lackluster or “tidak apa” attitude of these government bodies. Previously, there were non-Malay department Deputy Heads, the quality of these departments can still be considered not bad, but many of these deputies had retired or go private like Tan Hock Chuan, the situation is getting from bad to worse, worse to worst.

I have no qualm you help the weaker ones, but please help in proper way. This is the message I wish to convey to those powerful. Of course, they can accuse me of playing racial sentiments or challenge their rights or insult this and that or demand more than what I entitled to, then, I don’t know what to say.

What is the use of being “A true Malaysian” if I can’t even give my frank opinions, without any bad motive but all for the good of Malaysia? It is better to let these “experts without expertise” regard themselves as “A true Malaysian”, and I an “Annoyed Malaysian”.

We should stop such trend to continue if we still choose to remain in Malaysia. Votes are in our hands, make sure you use it the right way.

Don’t be con by her. She must have been coached to play dumb during questioning. Pukul Bodoh semua ta tahu. Thats how the game is played.

There are various technique on facial expression and body movement taught to individual to display to an interrogator. For example frowning the brow and give an empty starring look..plus scratching the head gives an impression of no knowledge of the answer to the question asked.
Taken aback with a slight of the head and body slightly rearwards.plus opened mouth…indication of surprise and lacking of answers.

Make a pitiful looking face and look at those closeby in this case the judge..silent requesting for help. In most cases ppl will say she does not know anything. Happens in our daily life.

More pressure is piled on her the more sympathy she will get.

Many more…ways lah to play dumb.

If these fake move are detected the line of questioning changes and the lawyer must know how to play the same game to obtain the truth….

She must have graduated from one of the public U or colleges. There are pro govt and opposition groups in the U. If she does not know which party Karpal is from… susah lah…even a form five student will tell you.

Maybe she does not know who her real father is..too many… I will believe her.

    1. The TBH inquest yesterday focused on his right shoe. I received some photograph of the shoe from readers and the same image of the show also appeared on various MSM and online media. I read the line of questions that was posed to the investigating officer. I must say, I am disappointed with the quality of questions being asked.

    2. The way the questions was asked as if the lawyers were trying to imply that he was killed elsewhere in the MACC office and he was dragged to the window and then threw out of the window.

    3. Let us analyze the sole of the Right shoe and some other picture in MACC office and by looking at the shoe I would not even considering asking such questions. It does not add value.
The picture of the Right shoe showed that heel of the right shoe has come off and there is scraped mark on the sole of the shoe especially on the outer side of the shoe. The upper surface of the shoe is normal. To appreciate the difference one need to compare with pictures of his left shoe that is available on the internet.

    4. The police say that he could probably have been dragged on his side and not from behind based on the marks on the shoe heel. This is a flawed thinking. If someone ones to move a motionless body, he would approach the body from behind and put his hand under the arms of TBH and then pull it as such. No one will drag on a motionless body on its side as it simply takes too much effort and difficult to do. Furthermore one would expect other marks on the trousers.

    5. The other interesting observation is that such a scrape must have been made against a rough surface. I saw a series of pictures that was sent to me by a reader which showed the various parts of MACC office. The floor is carpeted wall to wall. That means the scrape cannot be made against the floor.

    6. The shoe alone tells a lot of story. It goes beyond doubt that TBH did not jump. If he had jumped, the shoe would not be in that shape. From any angle of a jump, and the eventual landing position and the injuries sustained, it is with certainty that I can say he did not jump. So what contribute to the damage to the shoe?

    7. My theory is that, TBH was lifeless. Someone (or two) carried his body and threw out of the window. As the body raced down, the right foot scraped trough over a cemented portion of the building external side wall. The force of impact is so hard that the heel came off and a deep scraped mark was left on shoe.

    8. The I/O said that there were no marks on the outside of the building on the 14th floor. I do not expect to find it there in the first place. Based on the damaged on the shoe, I expect the momentum to be great. Some readers earlier calculated the speed of fall to be at 80km/hour (if you are reading this, please confirm) and the momentum (mass x velocity) is so great that the shoe just came off and landed about 10 feet to 12 feet from the body.

    9. Based on the momentum, the police should be looking for the mark the right foot hit the wall anywhere in between the 14th and 5th floor and not only at the 14th floor. My own estimate suggest that shoe marks could be found anywhere between the 12th and 9th floor on the outside wall of the building. If the police estimated the trajectory of the body correctly, they would be able to find the mark.

    10. That basically explains the shoe condition. More importantly, it reemphasized the possibility that an unconscious (or dead) body was thrown out of the 14th floor MACC office.

    1. Osteoporosis Drugs Kill Swine Flu Virus

Two existing drugs used to treat osteoporosis may be effective in killing influenza viruses, including the new H1N1 swine flu and the H5N1 bird flu viruses, researchers in Hong Kong have found.

The two drugs are pamidronate and zoledronate, which are marketed by Novartis AG under the brand names Aredia and Reclast, respectively.

In their experiment, the researchers exposed human cells that had been infected with the influenza viruses to the two drugs.

They observed that the drugs triggered extra production of a type of white blood cell called yd-T cells, which went on to kill human cells that were infected with the flu viruses.

Flu viruses can only replicate in living human or animal cells and killing infected cells would stop the viruses from replicating, the researchers said.

Professor Lau Yu-lung at the University of Hong Kong’s pediatrics and adolescent medicine department described the infected human cells as “factories that will produce viruses.”

“These drugs attack the viruses specifically … This approach kills the factories that are producing viruses.”

Malik Peiris, also part of the research team, said the drugs could enhance immune responses of the human body.

That was especially important as flu viruses mutate constantly, which reduces the efficacy of vaccines, he added.

The researchers plan to move next into animal and then human clinical testing.

”I wonder what is the standard of hiring?”

This is my perspective on the quality of workers in many institutions in Malaysia. “D .

Meng has a point. In govt agencies, managers hire people that are less smart and who would not threaten their positions. The intellectual level of an organisation is proportional to the sum of intellectual level of each generation of hires.

This can be put into a formula of moron.

    S= K*{(p+(p-n1)+(p-n2)+(p-n3) …….}

    where
    S= Overall Intellectual Index
    K= Coefficient of moron
p= intellect level 1st group of hires
    nx= 1,2,3,4,… batch of hires

Therefore over a period of 20-30 years, this practice have caused the govt agencies to be degenerated to moronic proportion. Are we surprised by the result. I am not.

    Correct correct correct.

By natural laws, a murderer not proven or convicted due to some stupid man-made legal technicalities is STILL a murderer. Simply, because the act of murder is registered into the murderer’s subconscious like a computer chip or a pen drive. Too bad, karma will catch up when the “ingredients” (physical, mental and emotional or casual circumstances are congenial to manifest as another “cause-effect” (some prefer to call it punishment).

    monk,

Man-made laws are preventive in nature. Like law related to murder, its punishment usually is “hang until death”, or “shot by firing squad” or “gilotin”.

Severity of such sentences is to prevent murder from happening, but due to human weaknesses, murders still happening.

When a murder happened, the murderer(s) know what happened. Of course, the one who got murdered also knows that, but he or she already dead, cannot tell.

When such cases go for trial in man-made court, the murderer, due to human weakness again, will lie to the court, give all kind of excuses to prevent himself or herself to be found guilty.

Well, again, still goes back to human weaknesses. Murderer knows but ……

Innocent until proven guilty or guilty until proven innocent are so nice phrases created to cover human weaknesses.

Buddhism 5 precepts are so true. Karma also true. The effect may not be in this current life, next life maybe.

Ha, ha, ha Meng, I don’t think that is the God I think I realize.

It is humans who think of a “God” they think they will be forgiven but the truth is, they will pay for it one way or other, the karmic force can be reduced or enhance purely depending on one’s own action at 3 levels, physical, emotional and spiritual. The last word is “spiritual” NOT “religious”.

There is a “huge” difference between those religious and other who are spiritual.

So called religious people may keep repeating mistakes and THINKING” God has forgiven him. They go to worshipping places repenting but the moment it is over, they forgot and repeat the same mistakes or even do worse things. Feeling remorse cannot wipe out serious crimes.

Hit your head against the wall and feel remorse. The pain won’t go away though you might be wiser the next time. God may help those who help themselves but GOD can’t help those who kill themselves (metaphorically speaking).

And I am not referring to Teoh’s case. I don’t believe Teoh killed himself anyway.

The Chinese are inborn with a peculiar behaviour. When someone who is a convicted criminal or known swindler and a cheat, a gangster, traitor etc, they would avoid him and as far as possible not to engage in any conversation with him.

This has been handed down through generation where the father plays an important part in the child’s upbringing….control and restraining the child. This attitude was also acquired through years of being ruled by warlords and emperors who demand strict loyalty and no nonsense. As such when one who supports the opposition against his own kind is considered a traitor and the whole family would be put to death.

Coming to this byelection in P. Pasir, MCA and Gerakan in supporting a stained character would be seen as a traitor to the chinese there. In the same context MCA and Gerakan will be slaughtered or put to death in the next GE.
