A person for public office must be able to stand tall

A candidate in the coming by election was found be have been disbarred by the Bar Council for financial misconduct. The disbarred lawyer appealed to High Court and the High Court has upheld the decision of the Bar COuncil.

Why was a disbarred lawyer chosen to be the candidate? Well, a few possibilities. Maybe the party concerned did not know, and in that case, it means that the vetting system is at fault. Or the party may have already known about the disbarment, but still carry on nominating the candidate. In the latter case,  it gives a preception that the morality in the party may be so low that even a disbarred person is considered alright.

A person wishing to hold a pulic office must not only be clean but must be seen to be clean. By the word clean, it does not mean that he must be like a saint, but at least, there must be   no blemish on his record, criminal, financial or  moral (like caught in a dvd with pants down). Anyone with even a slight blemish should not have volunteered or been chosen..

It is really an embarrassment for the party that the candidate has such a record. So in order to save the party from further embearassment, this cnadidate should withdraw and let the other side have a walkover.. That is the least any decent man will do to save his party from further embarrassment. It will also save the government a lot of money which can be spent on development in that area.

    Dr Hsu

To give a walkover is also an embarrassment.

Umno is caught in a tight corner and all the spinning and rubbish of homework carried out… trying to justify, it will go on and on to save face.

The big question is still on why was he nominated? Is there any other factors or reasons that contributed to his selection .. which is a must or otherwise some repercussion for umno grassroot.
OR was there any prearranged distribution of funds when he comes out the winner??

If he is the winner, funds will be transmitted to him to provide for his constituency and payday for cronies too to prepare the ground work for the next GE. There will be buying over of supporters under the guise of assisstance. Generally the rurals residents are in need and money moves or changes loyalty. Umno cronies certainly will pocket the most.

This is one of the comments from umno grassroots.!!

To give you an example. In one of the previous GE, some of my close friends were involved in the election in East Malaysia. Each were give a travelling bag full of 50 notes and they stayed in the hotel waiting for the politician to return from their outings. On returning these politician asked for 10K each….reason they have given out money to the locals. On checking, what was given out were around RM1500 the most ie 3 village chief.

500 here and there but 10K for themselves each day.!!!

I believe some arrangement has been made to redirect the fund to someone but who??? He who talk and speak the loudest. !!!

This is what I heard about the vetting process. As usual the special bunch (you know what I mean) gets involved. But these bunch is now disgraced by the current adminstration due to 2 reasons:

    1. they missed in the last election
    2. pak lah only listen to the special bunch

Current power to be dont trust them. They rely more on military intelligence and other sources.

Anyway the special bunch had a negative report on this candidate fella due to the reported flaw in the fella’s character. Somebody still chose to proceed with this fella.

Looks like score 1 for special bunch and score zero for military intelligence and other sources.
And red faces for Najib and Muhhydin.

Yo, who else can say “MORALITY” not important in the case of politics?

If morality is there in the first place, Teoh Beng Hock will be still alive.

If morality is there, the cause of Teoh Beng Hock’s death will be known, even without having inquest

    Read this one guys, http://themalaysianinsider.com/index.php/malaysia/35600-mystery-letter-fingers-senior-macc-officer-over-teohs-death

MORALITY IS AT ALL TIME IMPORTANT, keep in closet for what?

I remember someone said, some sort like under a very dirty smelly tainted corrupted system, if morality is there, things will still be not that bad.

How true. Murderer is still murderer, truth is truth…

When any party sets their own rules & regulations without regard to the standard rule of law, they can survive for sometime but their days are surely numbered. Let us continue voice out against injustices, corruptions etc. from time to time in educating those who are still thinking that the present govt is god sent.

The person “personify” the values and morality of the party that he is representing…rather apt indeed.

Just observe how his party is defending him…
    1) blame his law firm ex-partner ->rebutted by Bar Council and the accused ex-partner
    2) say Bar Council has ulterior motive
….the party simply will not admit its MISTAKE.

What do you expect a party bankrupt of morals, values and comprises a chunk of brainless unwise politicians (I refrain to call them leaders) to select a “clean and honest” candidate?

When a glass of water is tainted and polluted, can you extract a “drop” of clean water from the same glass?

This is the collective karma this deformed party is facing. Parallel: When the parents nurtured a gangster typed of children what do you expect them to be when they grow up>saints?

It is time to kick their butts each and everyone at next general elections. Don’t forget the toyol.

“”Kalau Adun atau YB lurus susah cari makan””

This comment sometimes can be heard on the ground. It means if the Adun or YB are honest it is difficult to get business done. Coming from umno supporters one can guess that all umno candidates must be dishonest.

That is their code. The word morality or moral values are not in their dictionary. Disgrace or shame…. no they are immune to it. I just wonder how they can show their face in public. For an ordinary family man he would run away and hide from his friends.

Their daily prayers have words such as Benci, Hina and Tuduh. (In english it is hatred, abuse and accusation) and these are recited daily.

    This is umno.

    This is a good one.

Sure they are saints after crimes being commited. It’s shown on TV , when they are brought to court they wear the skull cap….to portray their saintly image. …escorted by their parents, and grannies… oh he is a good son and blessed by his parents!!!

Just waiting to see what type of skull cap Rohaizat Othman will put on???

UMNO-BN is in a road of no return and so have to cook up stories to stand behind their mistake in the candidate. Guess more sadist stories will come out from UMNO but since he is tainted, the people of PP will know how to cast their vote and whatever distaste on PR will be secondary as its their own backyard byelection that matters now and chosing the right person to be their rep is now much easier matter.

It shows very clearly that BN has lost all credibility and even their member party like MCA is now tainted with their president allegedly involved in 10million and “free” private jet rides. He is not the first one and I believe there are more.

Even DPM is misusing Govt property for his own party functions and yet so far we have not heard of any actions taken by MACC or Police to initiate any investigations.

So there are 2 sets of laws in our Bolehland Malaysia. It shouldnt be 1 Malaysia but should be 2 Malaysias (1 for UMNO and 1 for the rest)

That our Deputy Prime Minister blames Bar Council and indirectly the High Court for upholding the Bar Council decision to disbar this dishonest lawyer, speaks volume as to the quality and integrity of the top leaders in our govt.

Still wonder why we vote Opposition ??

KTK really losses his integrity when he accepted a backdoor appointment to be KPI Minister.

Don’t we have any leaders with integrity in this country ?

The response from the DPM suggests that UMNO leaders have lost all their moral compass. The DPM own standards are so low, even crooks such as Rohaizat can be a leader in UMNO. The biggest shame for any professional is to be disbarred by his own Association or Institute. I see this Rohaizat as guilty of CBT. He deserves a mandatory whipping at the Polls.
