Most inventive nations of the world

The previous article from The Economist has shown glaringly Malaysia’s position on innovative entrepreneurship, or rahter the lask of it.

I would like to post a list  here (from one of the commentators in the enomist article) that shows how far behind we are in innovation or invention:

WHen I see the lists above , I can’t help to think that perhaps to be inventive, we need to have to develop our right brain more..

Most of us right handed are using our left brain more, which is the brain for reasons, rules, logic and so on.. but we need to develop our right brain more so that we will have the creativeness, innovation, flare and so on.

Note that most the countries on the lists have good infrastructure for musics and artists.. Even Korea and Japan they let their children to go through music classes… FOr those spoon feeding countries like Malaysia or evenSingpaore, not much inventiveness is there .

Perhaps we need to develop our music talents to stimulate the right brain to develop and hence the inventiveness and the flare… Just a thought.

    My 2 sen worth.
Singapore and Malaysia want managed entrepreneurs and innovations. The politicians want to control everything .

In the red dot, they control everything because of paranoia and because LKY is control freak.

In Malaysia, they want to control everything because of the gravy train.

It is all done for the wrong reasons.

My thought is that the present education system and rules governing our university students do not encourage individuality and especially to think against the “grain”.

The ability to think outside the box frightens our ruling elites who can’t do so themselves!

Yeah I know, blaming everything gone wrong on our ruling elites is easy but they were responsible for distorting our systems which created sheep who will keep them in power.

I don’t think out nation collectively stands tall in anything positive right now except for the wrong things or malprctices. There are so many contributing factors. The Japanese has the work culture and consistency in pursuing excellence. The South Koreans, the courage to change. What ever, there are pro and con of it, like Singapore. Politics is out but economically well ahead.

Environmental factors? Too much complacency, racial supremacy policies? Maybe our nation need some big quakes to jolt us out of the stupor.

Forget about submitting any patent or innovative project in this country. It will be stolen and be assured it will have slight changes and a new name of the originator.

Go to another country to submit your patent.

Our company (base in Malaysia) developed a system that can remove boron in wastewater economically. Do we dare to file for patent? The answer is a big NO.

Who says Malaysians are not innovative?
I can name a few Firsts here:

And the innovators behind them are all hugely rewarded, aren’t they?

How can a nation, trapped in a culture of mediocrity and dishonesty, suffering from divisive politics and brain drain, ever hope to nurture and develop innovative entrepreneurship? There is little pride in achievement, in being the best there is. In the competitive pursuit of excellence, we lost the way a lifetime ago.

MCA is the most innovative political party in Malaysia. The president “innovated” his office suite 2 TIMES costing more than half a million ringgit in a matter of few months apart according to advice to 2 different feng shui masters.

The building (certain floors) were “innovated” only after the previous president OKT carried out at a cost close to RM8-9 million. After that superman again innovated and adding innovations to 6th floor, according to feng shui masters, of course.

Now MCA has two deputies president.

Yes, MCA is the most “innovative” party in the whole country….whole world??
