How to mend a broken mirror?

The campaign for the presidency of the second biggest component party is in the last leg.

There are 3 candidates:

1. One candidate says: I can unite the party

2. Another candidate says: I come back to save the party

3. The incumbent says: I can reform the party

But in politics, do not believe what is said. It is just euphmism, as I have mentioned in my post: Euphemism for the political novice. Just ot refresh some of the euphmism posted in that post:

  • you want to chop someone — reshuffle
  • you are forced to patch up with your enemy — unity plan.
  • Patch up with an enemy with great influence – Greater Unity plan.
  • talking about your enemy — he is still my friend
  • you want to stab him at the back — he is still my friend but principle more important than friendship

When someone says that ” I can unite the party”, it simply means that once he wins, he will chop off all those who oppose him.

When someone says” Only I can save the party”, it means that he is going to go back to the past, and repeat his mediocre performance.

Polls outside the party has shown that most people wanted the third to win, at least to see whether he can really reform.. But unfortunately those outside who were polled cannot vote , and this party has a tradition of not listening to the very group of people outside that it claims to represent. So if the community wants the third to win, the delegates will probably do the opposite.

Whoever wins, it would be an uphill task to win their traditional seats in the next GE, and it would be almost impossible to unite the party.

I can’t help but think of the Bee Gee’s song “How to mend a broken Heart”? Only this time it is not broken heart but broken mirror. It is impossible to make a broken mirror whole again, even if they use lots and lots of cellophane tapes or handiplast.

MCA should ‘tutup kedai’, like a broken mirror it’s of no value anymore.
It can’t even stay united and save itself, how is it able to look into the interest of the Chinese community it prides itself to represent?

Now that the result is out, MCA delegates had prick the new leader. ( Sorry for the play on the word. I just cannot refuse this opportunity). There are more greedy money can buy delegates than sincere delegates. MCA will have to live this down. That is, if it can survive the next election.

The new MCA culture will be :

    1. Back stabbing. The new No.1 and No. 2 are now famous and proven back stabbers. They start stabbing each other backs. The rest of MCA will follow.

    2. Making whoopee ( with partner that is not the spouse. It is acceptable to make whoopee. It is even desirable to make whoopee. The new president will celebrate with more whoopee.

Yes. MCA will be transformed. It will be a back stabbing whoopee land.

It will even be more divisive than before, and as you have pointed out, the back stabbing will not stopped and be more intense. The winner did not even won half of the votes.

The results were contrary to what the community wants, and MCA claims to represent the chinese community.

In the next election, there will definitely be even more leg pulling and sabotage.

Just imagine what would happen if CDVD as president of MCA supposedly fights with Umno on behalf of the Chinese which the party claim to represent and Umno shows CDVD section 377A of the penal code .

we can forget about PKFZ now. The minister will be changed and W will most probably be named transport minister as his sarawak tiong will lobby for him the post.

ANd what MKO has expressed is the fear of the Chinese community outside .

Dr. Hsu . You are right. That fat roast pig may get his wish. There will be many more money skimming schemes coming up. That you can bet on it.

There is the MCA election coming up. This election has probably empty the coffers of some. They have to refill them. They have less than 12 months to do this. The new head will have to start raiding the asset of MCA.

I say, watch the akan datang. It will be just as interesting and sickening as the current episode.

Dr, you are partly correct. MCA will lose the ministry because OTK made a big issue in his fight for presidency. Let’s wait and see in April, the reshuffle.

A quick one, in term of politicking, CSL wisdom is far ahead of OTK, he may not go for drastic change and are more willing to work with UMNO. I don’t think he will kick out OTK as he knows well who is his true enemy. I am more interesting to know what is OTK stand as he now realized the same formula no more working. He actually suffered the most from his own morality preaching, a too huge lesson learn, he may need a new image. Like the female duo twins, Ah Kiu changed her innocent image into a hot and sexual one, perhaps OTK shall do the same? Unless he is courage enough to join his old friend like CJM and TYK, otherwise his position is a bit neither here nor there

However, I know DAP LGE would ROFL.

From the party presidential election results, I can only surmise that MCA intends to go big time into the entertainment business, including but not limited to the following:

Making of adult movies and its distribution through DVDs and other media

Promoting of stage plays and soap operas with special emphasis on the theme of betrayal

Managing song and dance reality shows for the Chinese community

What a farce. Money talks. Money walks tall again. A lesson for us all. Racial politics is money politics. Whether Mca, Umno, Mic or any other tribal mosquito party.

Look at the front page picture of DVD Chai and Brutus. It is very telling. Brutus was jubilant. He got what he wanted. But look carefully at DVD Chai and his body language. I am not expert in this but you can see his reluctance in holding Brutus’s hand. DVD Chai’s eyes were shooting daggers at Brutus. This is telling of what to come net. DVD Chai is more devious than the Transformer. So the move when it comes will be subtle and deadly.

Pendatang Ahmad Ismail is coming back to UMNO Penang. This time he will slap Koh Tsu Koo’s face rather that his picture.

    How can anyone trust Brutus?
Can you blame CSL for his reluctance to touch that dirty hand? I wouldn’t. That rascal was given the name “Brutus” not for nothing, he earned it!

    Dr. Hsu,

Gerakan’s Teng Hock Nam has issued a statement on Perkasa’s AGM in which he criticized Dr. M’s speech as disgusting in his Mandarin version but left out all reference to Mahathir in his English version where he praised Umno leaders for distancing themselves from Perkasa. If he doesn’t have the guts to say the same message to Umno why play to the Chinese gallery? Dr. Teng has shown himself to be a castrated eunuch serving his master Umno. Can someone please tell him sending different messages to different audiences don’t work anymore in this information age?

romerz or klm, can you give him a verbal slap and point him to this article? Tell him he should read the comments.

Dr. Hsu. I just finished reading the New Economic Model Report. It is excellent. Now, will this report be put into practice or just kept on the shelve with other consultant reports. People like that Abraham Ali (to give a Jewish twist to his name) and that Pendatang Ismail Ali are actually identified in the report (not by name) as resistance to the plan. Cronies businessmen are also identified as resistance to the plan.

It sounds good in theory, but NEP sounded good too in the 70s, with the aim of eradicating poverty regardless of race.

I will wait for the road map, as well as how the civil service is going to implement it.

I can accept affirmative action for the poor regardless of race, but not affirmative action based on race. But since implementation is in the hands of the civil service, what i am afraid is that this model will again be skewed in the name of helping the poor and be turned into a more rightist policy.

PM is facing resistance within his own party as well as outside his party, and those who resist his action are obviously behind Perkasa and the likes of it. Does he have the political will to push through ? it remains to be seen.

In order to judge the impact of NEM, read between the lines of comments made by foreign financial analyst and see how the stock market react to it. the stock market and financial analysts have first hand information and always ahead of the general public in seize the opportunity to make quick gain or exit early to cut loss.

In fact the NKRA had hinted how far could NEM goes. The most important element in creating high income job is quality education, but reforming education system ranked last in NKRA priority.Political will, it is a foregone conclusion there is none as Najib delayed in reveal its content till today.

Weakness in implementation already become a trade mark of BN administration even foreign analyst cited it as the main reservation of NEM.

Dr, how could KTK remains as Gerakan president when time and again he was slapped tightly on his face by Ismail Ali. This time around the whole of Gerakan is being slapped and the only solution is only evading the issue and come up with dual version press statement to show the chinese they are defending their dignity while pleasing TDM and UMNO by deliberately omitting certain sentence deemed sensitive to their master. If I don’t term it as idiocy then it must be a lie.
