What a ridiculous idea

There is a proposal to allow proxy voting in the next GE.

I am flabbergasted how this could have been proposed in a country that calls itself a democracy.

We might as well not hold any elections.

In a case of proxy voting, some sort of forms will have to be used. This is where lots of hanky panky can happen.

Who is to prevent someone to ask for a high sum of money to give his proxy form away? Maybe to the highest bidder?

Who is to prevent voters to sell their votes for 50 or even 100 ringgits per vote ?

Who is to prevent forged signatures , forged proxy forms etc etc??

Might as well assign a password to each citizen and ask them vote online..

If the above (proxy voting) does happen, then the person or party with the deepest pockets will win; policies are no more important!

And if this person or party wins, be assured that he or the elected representatives from this party would try to recoup whatever was spent and more!

The country would be stripped bare in no time!

Only a fool could have thought up such ‘brilliant’ idea!

That fool is drawing big perks funded by taxpayers money. He is also deemed an honouravle person in our society with strings of titles. What a wonderful fake world we are living in.

I think we need a system whereby Malaysians residing abroad can vote abroad instead of returning to Malaysia. In the last GE, I am ashamed to say I did not make the trek back to vote but know of a dozen or so true-blue rakyat who returned to exercise their rights.

But frankly, I am also skeptical whether the SPR would be able to guarantee the authenticity of these overseas votes as it could readily replace these (potentially pro-Barisan Rakyat) votes with pro-BN votes.

What a ridiculous idea. You are right. BN want to continue to rule by hook or by crook. By fair or foul means.

The report titled Illicit Financial Flows from Developing Countries 2000-2009 said that illicit financial outflows from Malaysia totalled US$291 billion RM888 billion in that period It said that the increase was “at a scale seen in few Asian countries ”.

One of the causes for this illicit outflow was corruption. We had seen in the past MBs and Ministers carrying cash by millions out or remitting money by tens of million through money changers. Now, there is a number and it is staggering.

From BN standpoint, it is not a ridiculous idea after all.

BN parties are genetically fused with corrupt mind. 99% Chinese rooted in the component parties are either for money or status. The other 1% simply too egoistic to admit their mistake of joining the wrong side. I may be wrong and be accused of firing the wrong salvo but at least I have a clear stand.

Soon, we will have elections where 99.9% of the votes are for the ruling regime! No need to learn how to do this from APCO, just learn from
North Korea, Cuba, Equatorial Guinea, Egypt, etc.

The EC is under UMNO/BN control. So what do one expect from these bums in EC. They will do whatever to ensure their UMNO/BNM corrupted and greedy politicians won in any election. This is not only downright disgusting but absolutely the most stupid proposal of all. The rakyat never ever trusted these EC bums.

Day one, i never ever trusted our EC guys. They are almost all sympathisers of UMNO/BN. Such idiotic proposals either proved that they have bird’s brain or no at all. Our country is already corrupted and with this god knows what happen!!

Need someone to verify this mail. Just recieved this mail from friend. If this is indeed true, then God help the non-muslim/malay food industries!!!!!!!!!!

“What is becoming of Malaysia ? The nightmare is evolving and those caught in it are mainly the Chinese and Indians, and perhaps multinational corp with operations in M’sia. I feel sad to receive this email.

Its so sad and what a terrible economic and commercial tragedy that hard working, honest, dedicated entrepreneur like your goodself has to face such kind of rulings in the food business.

It must also been horrific and financially disastrous that Dato
Jackson ‘s Sliverbird factory is forced to close down under such heart breaking circumstances.

I know about the IKEA’s restaurant’s shut down because of the so-called question on the alleged foodstuff halal certification.

May the mercy and compassion of God Almighty be upon 1Malayasia !!
    God help this country !!

Dr.Martin, The Halal Hype that is going on in our country will force many SMIs involved in food production and distribution to close shop. JAKIM has muscled its way to make itself the Monopoly of the Halal certificate. In April 2011 the Halal Act will be passed by Parliament where only Jakim has the monopoly to issue the certificate.

Each certificate cost about RM1000 and with 2000 line items in my company I will have to foot out RM2,000,000 and that is if I am lucky to get all those approved. I might as well close down my business and retrench all the 60 staff with some 100 odd dependents.

The Government will be deprived of some RM800,000 worth of taxes and duties. The Food standard will definitely decline as chefs will have less ingredients to work with. The Halal procedures will increase the food cost by 10%. JAKIM does
not care for the economy of the country. All it cares for is its rice bowl to ensure that it is relevant and seen to be working hard.

Look at the way it closed down IKEA for two weeks. Look at the way it closed down Silverbird in Nilai. It does not care for the business environment in this country.

Even mineral water has halal logo. Eventually all vegetable, fish, grains, rice, etc will need halal logo. Eventually all Muslims will not touch all non Muslims if the Halal fever is allowed to spread. Even Saudi Arabia is not as strict as Jakim. I have suppliers who could sell their products into Saudi Arabia but not in Malaysia .

80% of the food industry is run by Non Malays. One of the criteria to obtain the Halal Certificate for restaurants is to employ Malaysian Muslim. If you do not have any Malaysian Muslim in your restaurant you will not be issued with a Halal certificate.
    Where are we heading???? “
