In the official welcoming ceremony for visiting Chinese Prime Minister Wen, there was a backdrop with certain Chinese words which were grammatically wrong. One CHinese official was quoted that he could not understand what meaning that phrase was trying to convey. Apparently, it was translated using google translator.
At the same time, a wrong picture was used instead of the historic picture showing our 2nd PM the late Tun Razak shaking hand with Mao during Tun’s first visit to China. The picture that was displayed showed Tun Razak shaking hand with an official of China which not even the minister in attendance, Dr Koh T K-a Chinese Scholar- knew about, according to Sin Chew report.
This is really a disgrace to a country which has so many Chinese schools. Even a primary student would have written that phrase correctly.
I cannot understand how protocol officials do not even know how Mao Tse Tung looks like in photographs. Even though he is dead, any recent world history book or diplomatic handbook on china would have his photos.
This has confirmed what I have been harping all this time– that we have lost excellence in all fields, even in the Protocol Division of the PM department.
I really do not know where to hide my face!

The lack of a sense of pride in one’s work, the Malaysian tidak apa work attitude for all the world to see. Just imagine our friends across the causeway sniggering away politely or some slapping their knees while laughing like our very own hyena in the Home ministry.
They can’t read and yet did’nt take the trouble to find some one who can at least give it a once-over. And stupid enough not to be able to pick the correct picture. There’s no pride in their work!!!
And Dr Hsu, you are so kind, to cushion the blow by suggesting sabotage. But really, the actions/ behaviour/work attitude of subordinates tell the kind of chief he is.
But then again, one may be too busy to look at all these trivialities, especially if one has to plan how to take advantage of this visit to channel further billions into one’s pockets.

hi guys…if anyone of you receive a letter from Income tax….giving you notice to pay up whatever is written…..whethwer they are right or wrong….not important.
Just pay up…and argue later..or be prepared you cannot travel out of the country…where it is also recorded in the Imigration Dept.
I say our auto pilot government is working hard excellently.
I got my notice for back income taxes short paid…way back 20 years to date!!
Cannot argue…..must pay.

The only sickening matter is the Income Tax. I have always paid punctually and out come a bundle I have not paid..way back 18 years ..
Just settle everything today. I hope the money collected is well spent…by the Govt. It seems billions of taxes not collected..and mine is just a teeny weeny small amout.
You see..when Income Tax says one owes them money..don’t argue..just pay. All you can do is perhaps negoitate to pay by installments and cut down the amount…if that officer have the power to help one.
Anyway….no more tax problems for me..as I hate owing anyone at my age.
