Is election near?

Fuel price will remain. That is the good news.

It is also an indication that General Election may be very near. Given the shape of government coffers, it cannot really sustain further subsidies of fuel for long.

It is also an indication that the power that be is doing everything to try to maintain power.. ANything to win votes, or rather it would not do anything that will result in losing votes.

It is therefore an indication that they are not so sure of winning after all, even though many of their leaders have repeatedly said that Malay votes have returned to them.

One thing i am very sure: the moment GE is over and if they retain power, Barang will Naik, including fuel and electricity tariff.

Farmers….fishermen…rural folks……all depend on fuel for so many things…whereas city folks…mostly cars…and majority….are the minorities.
Dare UMNO B make rural areas voters life more miserable and loose more votes?
    Election..for sure…this year…maybe 711 or 911.

    Dear Dr Hsu

This is how I see it:
so-called fuel “subsidies” are, strictly speaking, not subsidies at all
(contrary to govt propaganda). They are actually “opportunity costs” in the sense that fuel used by Malaysians could actually have been sold on the world market at a higher price, thus contributing more to Petronas coffers.
So, it is more like potential REVENUE LOST rather than the govt spending more (to subsidise us). Any mainstream economists out there who disagree with my point of view? Or is this just an issue with semantics?

The high grade oil produced by Petronas is sold on the world market. Malaysia imports lower grade oil for domestic consumption.

Hence Malaysia has a natural hedge against oil prices. However the B(arang) N(aik) govt does not see it this way. They can only see the higher price of imported oil, not the higher profits of Petronas. It is as if Petronas is their personal piggy bank and has nothing to do with the rakyat.

BN must hold election soon because they want to withdraw subsidies. Expect everything to go after after a BN victory.

Anwar had an interesting interview with Malaysiakini…put out in two parts.
It is confirmed…the battle is to get Malay votes…and as such the race and religion dirty politics gets dirtier under Najib.
In Europe he talks of moderation. Back home..he is an extremist…to divide and rule.
Anwar said…he cannot get permits to throw dinners speak to Malays …but permit to throw Chinese dinners………OK.
It is clear…Najib fear Malay votes go to keDAILan and PAS. He cannot afford to loose even one Malay vote….since he swing of Chinese votes are solidly against BN.
He predicted 13th GE be around August ….which this point he should be less assuming as Najib loves to prove him wrong…like his Sept 16th … takeover the Govt.
October is budget month….bad bad news are thruthful……but you can bet…all good news will be announced…if election is after budget day.
We all know Najib is a great liar and flip flopper.
He can keep on fooling rural Malays…with all the controls..to win 13th GE so undemocratically.
The point is..are rural Malays still so backwards?
Are they thinking their futures depend only on UMNO B forever and ever?
Concerning a balance sheet….it is so easy to put one out totally false and with cover ups.
    In commercial firms..crooks have 3 balance sheets….
One for the banks they borrow money from…lined up with all good strong future.
One for Inland Revenue to show how much they keep on loosing to pay less taxes.
One real position kept as secret documents…..only for shareholders.
This is by “Sdn Bhd” only or what we call..’Private Limited”
Retailers…including Doctors..Lawyers.. .Restaurants..can juggle with not much problem ..as they are supposed to be small operations and these are the people that become millionaires …paying no taxes or little bit only….cheating Inland Revenue…but if they are caught…big big problems for them.
Govt. cannot sue Directors on a “Sdn. Bhd”…for “owing money”…except announce in papers and close the company up.
Therefore…to talk about subsidies or revenue by a crooked government….waste of time.
They control the laws… police and news.
An honest government need not control all that.
Just vote them out and be done with it…but millions still support them with no benefits recieved at all….except on election days…dinners..bribes …and presents given.
Are Malaysians that cheap or are they real idiots?

There are huge public listed companies that can borrow from banks by the millions.
They will get any amount of banks that can lend them money.
Soon…all banks are caught over lending and pray to all the gods…those companies do not bust..or go bankrupt.
Therfore…all Malaysians must becareful not to deal with any banks that UMNO B have a major interest or shares …..directly or indirectly.
And that is also how companies owned by UMNO B are kept alived..so to speak.. by so call..subsidaries..besides subsidies to win votes from rural voters.
UMNO B is so crooked and greedy …corrupted to the core…can never change …never will change…for changes means all secrets out of the bag….one by one investigated and jailed.
Even now….so many investigated..should go to jail like Toyo …Tamy Chik…Samy Vellu..but not one big UMNO B fish is afraid…as the investigations are for show.
Even murder…UMNO B can arranged fall guys.
Only idiotic low class MCA stoop so low to be fall guys …for RM12.4 billion..PKFZ matter to save their families….not balls to expose the real masterminds….Mahathir.
So what are subsidies and revenues announced by this proven crooked government?
Still want to discuss..when all crooks are laughing to the banks…stealing your money?
Maybe some talk so much….living overseas with limited practical knowledge… except to brag their books acquired knowlege…sort of self made professors.

Also not to deal with banks that are not owned by UMNO B directly or indirectly but due to lousy management and greedy for business..caught into the cobwebs of crooks…loose so much…need to sell the bank to a bigger and wise one…and owners retire.
    Can you name anyone?
So many “joint venture” in banks…surely you can guess.. who they are.
No one knows how big parmacuetical business is…an area…UMNO B controls the market price of medicine to monopolised.
B Braun …moved factory to Thailand….not because of cheaper labourers found there.
Moved because they will not be fooled or dictated by the government..in business.

Election may be near as Jibby fear BN will face greater tsunami should he decide to hold election later as people will realise his ETP is plain bullshit. Inflation will deny BN 2/3 majority again or cause him his premiership if he hang on too long. A hungry voter is BN’s greatest enemy.

If Umno is smart it will raise the oil price and electricity price by a little before the next general election. This will lull people into thinking that’s it. If they hold back completely people expect that the big axe will fall after the G.E. if BN wins.

But there are very few smart people left in Umno. Those who manage to claw their way to the top are political streetfighters, backstabbers, vote buyers, influence peddlers, cable pullers and beneficiaries of nepotism. These are the people who think that sending Anwar to jail on a mock sodomy charge will help their cause. They are only able to see what is directly in front of them, what is indirect or hidden do not register in their brains.

It is the same people who cannot foresee the damage that inciting racial and religious can do. Or the effect on the economy of thousands of skilled citizens leaving. The same simpletons who think that releasing a clutch of billion ringgit infrastructure projects will elevate the country to high income.

Sadly we are governed by these dimwits.

    Hi Kenny

There is at least one who is not a dimwit.
The One who manipulates the Big Mouth
(so that PR does not form the next federal govt. To
avoid being brought to court – like Egypt’s Mubarak – for gross abuse of power, allowing corruption to flourish etc, or to avoid fleeing into exile –
    like Tunisia’s Ben Ali)

And who is that Phua? I know Khairy is quite smart (smart enough to realize that Perkasa is bad for BN) but he is out of the power loop.

Are you referring to Ros, the woman behind the throne?

It is indeed good news that fuel price will remain. It is also a matter of concern as it is now used as a tool to appease the appetite of voters in view of the impending 13GE.

From the views of our learned respondents, the GOM is stating that it has been subsidising fuel prices but on the other hand earning handsomely from oil exported at a higher price. Since both hands are of the GOMs, why can’t the profit earned be used to help and benefit the citizens? A peep in other oil producing countries will show us that their people enjoy very low fuel prices.

Besides, instead of using this fuel price is a bait for GE, what is the GOM doing to have alternative plans for fuel energy for the whole nation.? How long can oil be fielded in this country?

Perhaps, the GOM has no choice now, in view of the 13GE. To subsidise or not to subsidise, that is the question.

The “Sh*t,Sh*t,Sh*t” man is of no consequence. He is just a tool used by others. If he is smart enough he won’t get himself into this Sh*t. He won’t even be fielded in the next G.E. by those he serves. As an independent he will lose his deposit.

The D-Day only the “kiasu and kiasi” PM knows. But one thing is certain, BN component parties had definitely sent out notices to all divisions to set up GE steering committees and operations room. Perhaps ready for the dry month. Overview, two to three tentative months, September, November or first quarter of next year. Next year is more likely. Between then, more “rabbits” to surprise Pakatan and damage their PR links, more dirty tricks and sabotages.
