Are we at war?

Looking at the pictures of the youth gathering, and the shouting lead by PM to ” defend Putrajaya”, I can’t help but ask myself this: Is Malaysia under attack from any external threat? are we fighting a war against any invasion?

The answer is of course No.

Then why mobilise the youth as if a war is coming.

This thing happens only in third world countries where people are more gullible.

In most democratic countries, changing of government in elections are common.

Why treat the opposition parties as someone who is your enemies? Why are people so partisan? Parties are set up because of differing ideologies; they have differing ideas on how to run the country; or certain of their policies are different. One may be more liberal, others may be more conservative  like those in UK, or USA.

In elections, parties should sell on their ideologies and manifestos, not on scandals or giving out misinformation. They should never treat their oponents as if the opponents are external threat to the country. They must know that both have roles to play; the ruling as well the opposition. They are not external enemies like the Japanese in the Second Word War.

Sell your ideas and the your track record of governing and let people decide. There is absolutely no need to classify your counterparts in the opposition as if they are external threats.

Winning or losing government positions are not the end of the world; unless of course there is a corrupt culture to protect!!

When will all these manipulators stop manipulating?

……………………………..

Contrast with this:

At the darkest hour during World War 2, when the Nazis overran France in just a couple of weeks, and British Epeditionary Force (BEF) were  encircled leading to the miraculour retreat at Dunkirk,  one man came forward and urged the country ”  We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender”.

This man was Sir Winston Churchill. When everything seemed lost, he had unwavering faith in the British people, and his speeches ralliedd the British to fight a war against all odds and in the end defeated Germany’s mighty airforce in the Battle of britain.

That was a Statesman extraordinary. After the war, when the British people chose to dump him for another Prime Minister, he just retired.

He never called  his people to defend 10 Downing Street against the Labour party in the 1945 election, in which he lost the Premiership to Clement Attlee of the Labour party.

What a contrast !

Here is a very relevant comment by a reader of malaysiakini:

“The context and character of Najib’s speech echoes that of Adolf Hitler, Hermann Goering, Ernst Rohm and Josef Goebbels in the early days of Nazi Germany – when they addressed and brainwashed thousands of gullible youths into joining the Hitler Youth, Sturmabteilung (SA) and Schutzstaffel (SS) to ‘defend the Aryan nation’ from the imaginary threat of Jews, homosexuals, political opponents and anyone else who refused to subscribe to the Nazi ideology.

These youths went on to commit horrific war crimes. It is fitting that when Najib made this speech, he was flanked by the political eunuchs of MCA, Gerakan and the other BN component parties, whose main function is – as the Chinese idiom goes – to ‘act as a decorative vase” – AnakBangsaMalaysia

The concept of the opposition being an essential part of the democratic system has never occurred to BN. Instead of being treated as worthy opponents the opposition are treated as pests and enemies. Obviously BN thinks it has the sole birthright to govern Malaysia and any party challenging their birthright are enemies of the nation.

Imagine Barack Obama urging Americans to defend Washington DC against the Republicans with their lives when he campaigns for his second term. He would be labelled insane! Malaysians need to wake up and realize that their prime minister is treating them like idiots. Such warmongering of the opposition is absolutely ridiculous in a democratic system.

Recent uprising in the middle east has definitely sent the message and shivers down their spine! UMNO knows too well, they may be history and is desperate.
The more insecured and desperate they are, the louder their henchman – that loudmouth obtrusive billigerent racist Ibrahim Ali and his bunch of goons will be.

BN – Gerakan, MCA, MIC, how? Comeon, take a stand and be counted!

hhhmmmmm…Winston Churchill never ask British to defend 10 Downing streets against Labour Party.
Democrat and Republican party never ask Americans to defend White House against each other in elections.
And so is Germany…France….and all over… free and peaceful countries.
Why does Najib keep talking like our country is at war…..like the Opposition parties are Malaysians enemies?
One….for all the obvious personal reasons..no need to put out tons of the glaring and clear reasons.
Two…. “N” is the end of “RAHMAN”…he fear most to come true….end of UMNO….and end of cover ups upon cover ups on massive corruptions started 30 years ago..in huge big ways….to buy up the country with money and corrupted acts…encouraged by Mahathir. Cannot be altered or changed….corruptions too deeply rooted. Change will loose thousands rural Muslim votes…and mind poisoning methods lost.
It is so deep rooted and serious…that they must keep on fooling Malaysians ..especially Muslims…to stay in power…and so under Najib…race and religion politic…are at the extreme.
It is politics to fool Malaysians..for Najib to survive.
    No other ways.
It is..”You help me. I help you”
It is…”I am People’s PM”…and all meaningless slogans.
It now depends on oil to wake everyone up….as oil seems to show the real signs of what kind of our government is.
It is oil that blessed our country…and it will be oil to destroy our country…being misused for decades by evil minded and corrupted leaders…if we do not throw these corrupted politicians out..right now.
Every action has an equal reaction.
We cannot see most of them…but the reactions are there…hidden away from Malaysians with their actings and hypocrisies.
All will soon be exposed by the People…and Najib knows that too well.
He is buying as much time as he can for a miracle to succeed in fooling more Malaysians with all sorts of acts and stunts.
Think of all developed countries politics…than… you can see…clearly….Najib is bring us backwards…a legacy started by Mahathir to make sure UMNO B rules forever.
    Nothing stays the same forever.

Alas, this is a clear sign of desperation. It is a sign of clamouring for power by the incumbents whose destiny is bent on losing in the coming 13GE. Sitting in the open air with many invited youths, the N&M and entourage celebrated their last supper over foot-balls, as many believed it was at the expense of tax-payers. A bigger crowd will be arranged next year, it seems.

Before we are blown over by such presumptious intention, let us to clear that the people has the democratic right to place administrators in Putrajaya, and also reserves the right to replace them. The incumbents should not fear and strive to push, tussle, and jostle their way to the first in line – so reminiscent of school children jostling for food at a school canteen. The incumbents should defend the sovereign of the nation against external enemies of the country and not against fellow citizens who share equal rights.

As such, I think, there should not be any comparison with the likes of Sir Winston Churchill.

Our PM has run out of ideas of how to win over the youths. So he gathered as many as he can and acted out his script. So pitiful.

Another demonstration of 3rd world gutter politicking following Mugabe’s greedy style of clinging on to power.
It will be a biggest shame to compare him or any others in the BN to Churchill as these 3rd world brains continue to be possessed or obsessed and instigating that the opposition as the imaginary “enemy from within” while the world moves on to tackle more important global issues. These 3rd world brains also go about painting and hyping up imaginary threats and take every opportunity to make huge Billion Ringgit “defence” purchases with tax payers money to “protect” Malaysia or perhaps more likely keeping these manipulators safe and soundly resourced ????

A popular government don’t need to rent-a-crowd for that ‘kodak moment’! ..and at tax-payers’ expense? Yeah give the man enough rope and to hang himself.
This PM and bunch of buffons seems to be digging further into their graves, teeming with endless destruction!

It is about contrast..not compare …taking Winston Churchill government mentalities and attitudes.. .compared to our governement mentalities and attitudes.
It is not comparing Winston to Najib personalities.
Get it very clear before jumping to wrong conclusions.

    Dr. Hsu

Sorry, the gathering as if gearing for “1969”, my view.

A Muslim is to follow Al-Quran & Sunnah (Hadiths) Rasullulah SAW.

In Hadiths Rasullulah SAW, it is bery clear that Rasullulah SAW was AGAINST fighting/projecting for a tribe/race called Assabiyah.

From 1957 until today (2011), UMNO has been brainwashing & preaching MELAYU,
    this is Assabiyah.
Thus, UMNO is not practising Islam, this is just one of all mess passed 54years.

TunM claimed Malaysia is a Islam country is the JOKE OF THE UNIVERSE !!
He better go take up Tauhid Classes rather than keh-poh here & there.

Its so common to hear the Chinese address me ” lu huwana….”. In Hokkien “huwana” means MELAYU/MALAY.

Until today, 1Malaysia does not address this but created euphoria and wasting rakyat’s money for this 1Malaysia programs, worst the recent youth gathering!

    When will BN wake up?
