I am a self taught pianist. I started learning the piano at the ripe old age of 45 after seeing all my children playing very beautiful piano pieces. I used a computer program called “Teach yourself piano”. It was very rudimentary and teaches very basic  and simple things. It was very tough without a teacher. I have to remember which notes on the score correspond to which keys and have to try to coordinate my pair of old stiff and sticky hands,  at the same time, have to take care of the pedals. It was one of the toughest things. Glad to say, I can play quite well now, at least you wouldn’t cover your ears when I play. This proves that “when there is a will, there is a way”. I have taped a short recordings for your listening pleasure. I didn’t play well because I was quite nervous when someone is pointing a vidoe cam at me.

Playing a grand piano at a shopping complex.

My leisure is some time spent in looking after my Koi and goldfish. I have a ponds in my garden and have beautiful koi ranging from Sanke, Kohaku to all golden and all white.

I play basketball and I have built a small court in my back compound, about one-third of a normal court. My son is very good and in fact captains his school team.

One of my numerous hobbies is to keep up with advances in the digital world. This blog is a product of my IT interest and is done entirely by myself. The digital world has enabled all of us to be an author, a publisher, a commentator . The technology is going to change at an even faster rate so all of us have to keep up.
