Proposal shot down

CNN has just reported that the plan asking single women travelling abroad to have a letter from the parents will be shelved.

This is the news:

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — A Malaysian minister has shot down a colleague’s plan to restrict women who travel abroad alone.

Foreign Minister Rais Yatim had wanted the women to carry a letter from parents verifying the reason for the journey. He said this would weed out genuine travelers from those being used as drug carriers.

But Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar said Monday such a plan “will not be practical.” He is in charge of immigration and the final authority on implementing the plan.

The plan was also condemned by women’s rights groups as repressive.

Rais Yatim’s proposal was born out of concern over government statistics, which showed that 119 Malaysians, 90 percent of them women, are imprisoned abroad for drug-related offenses

Malaysian government has been known  to do ‘flip flop’ act very often. This is another one of those plans that were thought of but that did not get any feedback from the ground. anyone worth his salt would have known that this type of restriction placed on half of the population will not be popular and will not be feasible.

I wonder whether these politicians have any so called think  tank around them. If they have, and I am sure they have, do these ministers listen to their think tanks? Or do these think tanks have common sense?

You really do not need Ph.Ds or even bachelors degree to know that such restriction over the whole womanfolk is wrong.

Maybe We need politicians with better calibre and better common sense.

Pls read mypost yesterday: see the logic, dear minister?

Rais Yatim is only human. It usually sound like a excuse. Even Singapore minister do make mistake …
that one fugitive turn the island upside down.

Competence, more multi racial and capable civil service are the key to a better Malaysia. What we need is a revamp and renew civil service? Need more common sense and rational thinking in implementation

You are one screw loose kid……pohwatchdog.
Becareful….once you have..few more screws loose…you are going to the house of the perculiars.
Then….it takes a much longer time…to return to normal..that is….if you are lucky….the screws are made of plastics….not damaging to the brain.
And if you don’t change quickly…with determinations….pray tom God for strength ….and be humble to ask for forgiveness…upsetting our stomachs…with your nonsense….continuously…spoiling our lovely day….then those plastic screws will fortify themselves….to be even stronger than the any known material….removing you from that house….to a real gone case cell…like the one ..joker is housed….in the “Batman” movie…till the day you die….a real living death…suffering and suffering….and not even Mahathir ..can save you….with his expertise. but nothing lost. He is not a good doctor too. He kills more than saving people.

I admit that maybe they are silly in their statements. But I also think there are for example, PR leaders who give out stupid decisions before.

But as of today’s news, Pak Lah totally shot down the proposal made by rais yatim, so it’s all good. Hmm… now that’s a pretty smart move right?

sandyow….Smart move after making a stupid suggestion…is guided by employed foreigners…..not to be stupid. Nothing new to this. On the spot…putting out an opinion..like Rias Yatim…is showing his true self….a stupid man..he is.
Please give examples….what stupid decisions have PR leaders made. By putting out..just like you did so…shows clearly…you are a pro BN supporter…not here for reasoning…but to put out another stupid statement…showing BN supporters are mostly ….stupid too.
