KTM is having coaches reserved for the use of ladies only.
It is good if the intention is to protect the ladies, and if this is the intention, then the ladies should be given the option to choose whether they want to sit in all female coach or mixed female-male coaches.
It should not be made compulsory that all female persons must be in the all female coach.
If this is made compulsory, how would a family travel together? How would a couple travel together?
What I am afraid is that if this is made compulsory, then we will be slowly going the way of the Saudi.
Will there be a day when in cinemas, I have to sit in one side and my wife and daughters the other? or in some restuarants, I have to sit in separate sections from my female friends and family members?
What will Malaysia be like then?

Commuting by trains is a common mode of transport to work what with the snarling traffic jams that cause bottleneck at all roads. At times it makes sense to travel by train. My daughter commutes to work everyday by train. She works as a journalist writing finance news.
During peak hours trains are packed like sardines. There are men who do not know how to keep their hands to themselves. That’s when the fairer sex become victims of Eve teasing. The experience is degrading, humiliating and frightening. Groping is endemic on India’s commuter system. Eve teasing is something that women has to contend with in packed trains.
This is nothing new. In Japan and India, women only trains has been introduced on trial run to solve the problem of groping. At least women feel secured and can travel with peace of mind in women only trains. Just a thought!

Yes, i fully agree with your views. If it is for ladies’s protection, it is a noble act and I fully support.
I know the situation on LRT since i take LRT to work at times.
But I hope it would not be something that is made compulsory.. In Bolehland, anything can happen, and we need to voice our objection before they cast the die.

As Dr. Hsu pointed out, it must not be made compulsory. They can allocate a few cars for female only and its up to each individual female whether they want to go into the female only car or the mix car.
My thought is that the government is testing this out to gauge the response as they are now slowly going to implement more islamic ruling in this country.
The present political climate is a real concern for umno and they have to do something first to hold on to the majority malay voters as you can see how najib claiming that perkasa is not extreme.
najib’s both hands are full, one to pacify the malays, the other the non malays while a third hand from behind in the form of perkasa to help him out.
Whatever najib is doing now with all his slogans and NEM meant only 1 thing and that is to get back support for umno/bn and I can assured everyone this is not going to be a permanent feature once umno is back in full control.
I hope that mca, gerakan, mic can really open their eyes and not continue sleeping blindly with umno.

Why are we always suspicious of the BN govt actions and decisions?
For 50 years, we have lived under the high handedness of the govt. This is what Najib said as the govt know best mentality. The high handedness led to all the abuses and corruption that are so prevalent today.
I am not surprised at the stand of Dr. Hsu. I,too, am suspicious of the real motive for any decision, no matter how good it is.

Please all… I am looking at KTMB’s initiatives from a user perspective – that is to provide protection and to give more spaces available in the coaches when we have all women in a coach. Too many times spaces were wasted because women commuters do not wish to be too close to men.
I fully agree with Daffodils.
And one more thing, please do not compare LRT and KTMB commuters. LRT is much more comfy than commuters. If you want to feel how it feels like traveling in a commuter, please try during peak hours. And then you can criticise sensibly.

Where is the RM2 billion promised during AAB’s administration to upgrade public transport? Publish the KPI of improvement for public transport, KTK. don’t be a coward hiding behind the monster, this is very becoming of u claiming to be an honest and principled leader by breaching the 4th precept. If commuter service is well received why can’t they increase the capacity? simple as that. Why take the trouble to look into some other uncertain solution where u already have something workable to work on? Never use ur ass to eat and mouth to shit, BN (Gerakan included).

Gerakan already sit in a separate coach from UMNO. One on leather seat while the other on the floor (u know who is the dumb fool, KTK of course since he enjoyed it). In this coach, u enter from the back instead of front. The real miracle is , their member seems supporting this innovative arrangement and continue to cheer for the dumb and spineless KPI minister. Mind u, many of these supporters are either Ph.D, master or professional with strings of degree to show. I started to have some clue on the state of education we have in this country, perhaps these elites are some exemplary showcase. I also wanted to cry for the simple fact that ideology is dead dignity is losing its value even to the elites.
I have lost any suitable words to describe the sorry state of our elites but to present them a vulgar four letter words – F**& @@##&*$*. which I don’t really understand what it means but only those who have betrayed their moral obligation will sense it.

Gerakan still waiting for allocation of separate coach exclusively for them but leading to Holland ? Count me in, I will chip in as much as I could afford. But, there is no Sophia Loren in this coach like Cassandra Crossing and most probably u will only be served with Holland water but never reach Holland cos Gerakanians are too low class to deserve Holland’s welcome.
Dr, don’t even board the coach. Take Air Asia instead, it might be cheaper with promotion fare and it will land u in London instead of Holland.
